To my earlier response I would add this; Trump didnt win the election, Hillary lost it. He wont be running against Hillary in 2020, which means no emails or birth certificates or Benghazi to campaign against. The Democrats were cocky and complacent and full of hubris in the last election; you can be sure they will not make that mistake next time.

I would agree - she lost it, but others were complicit too - Obama's extreme left policies, the DNC scandals that included cheating, lying, email BS, campaign leaders that did some really stupid crap - all of that led to her demise. With that in mind though, people took this election as a chance to tell the left that the line has been crossed and even moderate Dems think things have gone too far left (such as folks in my family). Problem for the Dems is that the DNC leadership, instead of learning from that, are doubling-down on the stupid, looking to run in 2020 on men in girl's bathrooms, gun control and protecting their Islamic friends over everyone else.

No, unless the Dems do a very substantial turnaround, I don't know that they'll be ready to take a victory in 2020, even against an easy mark like Trump. If they want it, they'll need a big name that moves more to the center, if they stay far left, I have a feeling the Dem voters won't turn out for them again. Time will tell.

Mark my words... as long as she draws breath Hitlery Rotten Clinton is gonna keep trying to grab for that brass ring. The worry is, three-or-more-in-a-row same-party Presidential wins are... well, GHWB was the first since Truman, so you can bet that just like a Terminator she'll be back, in '20 and barring medical or criminal-conviction prevention in '24. And I don't have faith in the ship-dit sheeple to choose real Cruz-style Conservatism or Lee/Paul Libertarianism once Trumpist Populism gets term-limited out...

What makes that prior so worrying is that if Hildabeast tries again in '24 the Three Term Factor plays in her favor... another alarming thing is how many Sanders Democrats voted for Trump as a protest against DNC corruption. If they run somebody in his mold, there goes a lot of Trump's 2020 reelection support.

She'll be 107 in '24.

I'm not too worried about Hillary running again in '20 - I think her chance came and went. She's lost the presidential race twice now - to Obama and Trump. And losing to Trump, of all people, yeah, they won't be foolish enough to try that a second time - imagine the self-destruction of the DNC if they went all-in on Hillary only to have her lose to Trump a 2nd time??

As for Bernie, by '20, he's really going to be too old to run, so I don't think that's a chance either.

Fact is the Dems, at this moment, simply don't have a bench to pull from, and only 2 years to get a couple BIG names ready to go - 2018 will be the start of the next election cycle.

After reading a few posts about cheap ARs & 22 ammo on Page 1 I jumped to Page 5 & am now reading more about politics than guns - although they certainly go together. :)

If HRC had won I had an escape plan I'm glad I didn't have to implement. I would've sold every gun I own (60+ I think) along with my many thousands of rounds of ammo & moved to Panama. There are places a few hours north of Panama City where it's very inexpensive to live, just like Costa Rica was 25 - 30 years ago. In addition the Panamanian Gov't is offering incentives to get pensionados to move there - like no property tax for the 1st 20 years if you buy a house. It's not deferred, it's waived and they'll also allow you to either import or buy a car every two years & not pay taxes & duties on it. But - since Trump won my collection is probably worth less than if Rotten had won but I'm OK with that. It means I can keep buying more but so far this year I've only bought 2 Para's, a bunch of .300 BO and a new 48 gun safe but have another item in sight.

Early in the thread Colt's financial issues were mentioned. I lived in CT from mid-93 until the end of 2012 & Colt was always on the brink. In fact, I have a 1991 Colt All American 2000 1st Edition that was originally designed by Eugene Stoner & C. Reed Knight. Pretty interesting history but as usual, an extremely stupid move by Colt put them closer to the brink instead of producing a winner. Mine is in mint condition LNIB with an aluminum frame vs. the later plastic ones.

I still want to build that last AR15 20" HB Rifle in 6.5 Grendel. I want a left hander. Still trying to decide whether or not to tie up that kind of money for the projected use I will get from the thing. Lots of other things to spend the money on.

But right now I am focusing upon political Salem Oregon situation and what they might try to do to us on a state basis. The state Reprehensibles and Sinisters. It does not look good. Things look OK Nationally but not OK State wise.

Just need to beat them back and not comply with unjust laws...

It looks just as fudged up here in Washington too, we had the kitchen sink thrown at us and are barely hanging on. I have been on my Reps. constantly and one said the he had heard "Loud And Clear" from his constituents that we were against any bills that impaired the state constitution. That right there gave me hope that people were getting off the couch and waking up...

Problem is the Giant Toilet Bowl, aka Puget Sound... the Axis of Douche from Bellingham to Olympia, including how their vile infestation is spreading to us in the Foothills. :(

Man, if I win the lottery, first thing I do I'm buying a cargo plane, stuffing both houses into it, and Wheels Up for a Free State like Texas, hopefully somewhere that doesn't get that nasty ice and snow crap through the winter.

If I win the Powerball Mega Jackpot, (but highly unlikely) what I MAY do is take a trip up to Salem and request time to address ALL the elected enemies of freedom privately. There I will make it very plain and polite the next election cycle will be extremely well funded to REMOVE such enemies of freedom from public office and return them to private life and elect instead good honest freedom loving candidates. It would feel good doing that. You know, speak softly but gently wave that very nice fat deep check book around. :)
