Regarding posts # 18 and 20 ...
At age 40 ( a few years ago ) I needed to start wearing glasses.
And while I haven't had the pleasure of hot brass getting between glasses and eyes / face ...
I have had flint chips fly back and pock mark my lens.

When I was a kid. My Mom vacuumed up a .22 I left in the carpet.
The old Hoover gave that round a couple spins and set'er off! :D

Blew a chunk of metal out of the casing. And made Mom jump and scream! :s0114:

She beat my azz for that one. :s0108:

I once had two .45 rounds fall out of my pants pocket at the apartment. Was taking them out of the dryer when it happened, and my roommates saw it happen. Guess who can't do their laundry at the apartment now. :(

I'd say you got off easy. o_O

The worst thing hot brass did to me was knock my safety glasses off and hit me in the corner of my eye. Still not as bad as a PSL bolt carrier slamming on the tip of your ring finger. Had a blood blister the size of a cherry. Bit it open and went about my day as normal.
