matching
In electronics, impedance matching is the practice of designing the input impedance of an electrical load or the output impedance of its corresponding signal source to maximize the power transfer or minimize signal reflection from the load. A source of electric power such as a generator, amplifier or radio transmitter has a source impedance which is equivalent to an electrical resistance in series with a reactance. An electrical load, such as a light bulb, transmission line or antenna similarly has an impedance which is equivalent to a resistance in series with a reactance. The maximum power theorem says that maximum power is transferred from source to load when the load resistance equals the source resistance and the load reactance equals the negative of the source reactance. Another way of saying this is that the load impedance must equal the complex conjugate of the source impedance. If this condition is met the two parts of the circuit are said to be impedance matched.
In a direct current (DC) circuit, the condition is satisfied if the load resistance equals the source resistance. In an alternating current (AC) circuit the reactance depends on frequency, so circuits which are impedance matched at one frequency may not be impedance matched if the frequency is changed. Impedance matching over a wide band will generally require complex, filter-like structures with many components except in the trivial case of constant source and load resistances when a transformer can be used.
In the case of a complex source impedance ZS and load impedance ZL, maximum power transfer is obtained when
Z
S
=
Z
L
∗
{\displaystyle Z_{\mathrm {S} }=Z_{\mathrm {L} }^{*}\,}
where the asterisk indicates the complex conjugate of the variable. Where ZS represents the characteristic impedance of a transmission line, minimum reflection is obtained when
Z
S
=
Z
L
{\displaystyle Z_{\mathrm {S} }=Z_{\mathrm {L} }\,}
The concept of impedance matching found first applications in electrical engineering, but is relevant in other applications in which a form of energy, not necessarily electrical, is transferred between a source and a load. An alternative to impedance matching is impedance bridging, in which the load impedance is chosen to be much larger than the source impedance and maximizing voltage transfer, rather than power, is the goal.
1944 WWII production era K31 with matching numbers. Original beech stock dated 1943 which is the first year of K31 beech stock production. Troop tag under the butt plate. Mirror bore perfect mechanical function. The stock is a little beat up from original wear but I have never dared mess with it...

Hello All,
For your consideration I have 1942 Lee-enfield No.1 Mk III GFI Grenade launcher model (All matching serial numbers). This is the GFI (British controlled) Indian standard pattern Lee-Enfield issued during WW2. The copper wire wrapping on the stock is in order to reinforce the stock...
1. First I have a very nice, and uncommon large font bnz 42 K98k all matching including stock and handguard. Neat factory error on the bolt with double stamps, but is consistent. The metal has bluing loss but is still attractive. The stock is in excellent condition, with no delamination...

For sale is a complete set of upper-body hunting gear all in the awesome/functional Veil Cervidae camo. All of this stuff is in NEW condition (never been used). Was bought a year ago for a hunting trip that I didn't end up going on and now I have other priorities. Designed for hunting, but...
1. Walther PP Rig: Hello, I have to offer a seldom seen Walther PP Army issue, that was modified by the French Police post-war by cleanly and expertly installing a lanyard loop on the side of the frame. This is a matching example with very clear waffenampt stamps, a very nice Walther banner...

Up for grabs today is one of my favorite guns - the SKS! Purchased in 2018, this guy is probably the most reliable gun I've over owned. I've personally cleaned it of cosmoline and, fed about 1200 rounds through is so far. It'll shoot everything you put in it! Its was built in 1965, and the crate...
Hi, I have to offer a cosmetically beautiful, all matching German K98k, with the bnz 43(1943) code, a very desirable code. This is a very nice mid war rifle, with a beautiful laminate stock with very few nicks and dings, and no delamination around the action. The wood was duffle cut when brought...
Hello, I have for sale an Unissued, MINT, matching(bolt and receiver) VKT 1944 Finnish M39. This is a top of the line, un-upgradeable example of the Finnish M39 for sale. I can't even find these on gunbroker in this condition. The wood is mint front end to end, with a post war square splice. The...
Ok here is something you don't see everyday. As best I can tell this is a non-refurbished Tula SKS. It has all matching parts and there is no sign of this ever being refinished. In fact, it still has the yellow coating on the bayonet which is believed to a protectant that they left the factory...

Well, the day has come that my Safe Queen goes to a new home. Metal and wood have exceptional finish, all parts match, bore is mirror (don't have a Throat/Muzzle gauge), crown is perfect, functions as designed.
Took this out with some Long Range buddies and could actually hit a Man Target at...
Factory 106. Norinco Chinese SKS. Spike bayonet. All matching numbers. Plus two stripper clips.
Only reason selling it is that I’m looking to add to Cowboy Action kit.
