Depends on the skills and how they set themselves up.

Does Musk really have the skills to do anything besides run/takeover a startup and let the people who do the real work run with with the funds/etc. and make a success of a company?

He certainly has an ego - but one that could easily get in the way if SHTF.

Do most billionaires know how to repair/build machinery, or do they just hire someone to do it for them?

Can they treat wounds/illness?

Just what are their skills & experience? How do those apply to a world where $ are not worth anything anymore?
Considering that Musk got a start with a massive injection of daddy funding and is anything but a self made man (just like his servant Trump), we should all have our doubts.

Both Musk and Trump have demonstrated the ability to put together teams of people that than accomplish the task given in an effective manner. I would not bet against them.

Assembling a team and giving them the resources necessary to accomplish the goal will be key to survival.

While they have a lot of hoarded resources to their benefit, I still believe the "service" staff (their helicopter pilots, security guards, etc) will turn on them once money no longer has value and it'll be game over for most/all of them. I mean, what value would they have to contribute without money? What do others think?
It would take some foresight on their part. The money won't mean bubblegum when things fall, but if they already have all the supplies, etc in place they'll be looking good.

My late grandmother (very religious Roman Catholic woman) used to say: "A day is coming when those alive will beg those who passed away to let them enter The God's Kingdom." She was not English speaker, so some meaning of it might get lost in the translation from Croatian language. In a case of a nuclear apocalypse, life on Earth would be so horrible that, even if someone survived, he/she would wish they died.

If that comes true, then there are simple and relatively easy ways to shuffle off this mortal coil. I have enough muscle relaxants to get the job done alone - combine those with the few oxy pain pills I have and some sleeping pills.

Meanwhile, I am not going to say stuff like "I am not going to bother to try to survive"/etc. - I would at least try, and if it becomes apparent that it is a lost cause, I have options.

Billionaires will survive the initial events if they are prepared. But afterwards if they don't have any real life skills their survival rate will definitely decrease
