It's time to break that foot off in his azz.
I think you misunderstand to which doc I am referring.
This is not the same doc that butchered me at the surgery center and that has caused me no end to pain and inconvenience for the past 15-odd months.
This doc is my GP/PCP, who has quite literally saved my life on at least three occasions over the past 30+ years.
I will do nothing to hurt or injure this man...

Fair enough. Tell him to break his foot off in the docs azz that FUBAR'd ya.

So, just got off the horn with Doc Jim. He said what I hoped he would say, and that is that he set up the paperwork to get me the 5-year (blue) tag.
Reason he did that was for the convenience for both of us, so we wouldn't be doing this same paperwork dance every year. Whew...

He seems to think that I'm gonna come out of it in a couple more years or so, but he's my GP, not the specialist.
My specialist at Virginia Mason said that it would take a coupla years, maybe more, maybe a little less, or that it might never completely heal 100%.
And then there's Dr. Tollestrup in Vegas, who's a specialist's specialist and only does peripheral nerve surgeries. He's in the bullpen as my last resort.
I have to endure this for at least a coupla years before he will consider my case, so I still have a pretty long row to hoe...

Damn, well at least the one you like is saying its not the end of the fight so take that and go with it. Do what they tell you to do and keep in there fighting. I have one knee that has been a "problem" for many years that I am going to have to have a pro look at. Used to give me trouble every so often and go away. This time it does not seem to want to "go away
So have an appointment next month with a new GP. Will see what they do and see what they decide. I have several months worth of sick time at the job saved up for just things like this. Hopefully it will be something they can patch up without a new knee. Hang in there and keep fighting.

You know what every one that's got the new knee says? "I shouda' got this a long time ago". Except for this one gal I know anyway.

Some of y'all may remember when this happened last March...

Well, it expires this month, so I filed the paperwork with my PCP to get another temporary tag.
I got the call from my doc's staff today to come pick up the signed paperwork and the doc's authorization.
I pick it up, drive straight to the drive-thru DMV, and pull up to the window...

I hand the paperwork over to the gal at the window, and she looks it up and exclaims in a cheery voice, "Looks like you're getting an upgrade!"
Sobo asks, "Upgrade? Whaddaya mean?"
Her: "You're getting a blue placard!"

Now, this is quite disconcerting to me. For those that know the difference between the two colors of tags, you will understand.
For those of you that don't know, a red tag is a temporary tag, good for only one year.
A blue tag is essentially a permanent tag, and are renewed every 5 years. This is not a good sign to me...

I asked for the paperwork back to see it, and there in the box marked "Reason Patient Requires Placard" box, my doc had typed, "Complex Regional Pain Syndrome of lower left extremity." For those that are familiar with CRPS, that was my chief worry last year when this whole business started.
I need to call my doc tomorrow and ask him if he did that just for the convenience of getting a longer-term placard, or if that's the real deal and I'm not going to ever totally heal. It was a shock to read that, to be sure...

To be continued...
Red for "Red Shirt", blue for science division….

Congrats on a 5 year tag. ...hmmm, that might not sound quite right. Anyway, about the driveway, I thought all you rich people had heated driveways?

I'm stunned......:D

Rich people probably do have heated driveways. I, on the other hand, do not. So that might tell ya a li'l sump'n about my finances... ;)

Thread revival...

So, road conditions over Snoqualmie Pass this past week conspired to deny me getting to Poulsbo to be with my kids and the ex for pre-Christmas shenanigans. And yesterday the pass was closed all day, until 0911 hrs this morning, Christmas Day. So, we made a new plan that today is going to be our "Christmas Eve" and tomorrow will be our Christmas Day. With that in mind. I am leaving now to undertake the perilous trek west. I am well provisioned and prepared, but if you never hear from me again, it'll be because I died trying to cross the Pass in winter, and the Donner party feasted upon my frozen corpse. Merry Christmas to all! 🥰
