YES, there is some "expensive" miso on EBay.

Miso......as used in Japanese Miso Soup?
Well, it usually comes in red or white. White is the normal one that I use for soup. Pick up some tofu and green onion while you're there.

Anyway, I get mine from Uwajimaya (Beaverton, OR). Check the refrigerator section. Or, most any of your local Asian (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) food stores will usually carry some. Or (if I may be so bold to say) most any real Asian person knows where to get some.
