XTP's are a great handgun bullet. Real tough. I've used them in 41 Mag and 45 ACP. When I can find the stuff, it's what I'll be loading for .357.I muzzleloaded for deer last week in eastern Wa and packed a 4" pre lock 686 in a bianchi rh leather belt holster. Since I needed my muzzle loading possibles in a small belt pouch on right side, I put the rh bianchi holster on the left side of my hip with butt facing forward. It was surprisingly comfortable while hunting/hiking and also while riding in truck. Access was also quite handy cross draw style. I helped a friend sight in his new muzzleloader on his property before we hunted. After that was done I shot 2rds of my .357 reloads at a 3"x4" rock 50yds away and smoked it both times. My woods carry loads for this pistol are 158gr xtp's at 1275fps.

Forgive my ignorant question. I don't hunt or track, but I love learning about signs of wildlife:
How do you know that was caused by a bull elk?
Spent a few nights on the north side of Mt Hood over the weekend. Had my 1911 in 10mm in my chest rig.
That 60's IH pickup is dead sexy! We're having some work done in our woods, and I drove out to see how things were progressing today. The usual .45 XDS in my pocket, and I happened to have a CZ Scorpion in the truck.
Logging slash is being chipped up, and we're gradually opening the stand up so we can walk around in there comfortably.

I have a 1911 and want a good chest rig. What would you recommend? I am left handed.
