Wait time for Background checks in Oregon

Wow! Ten day wait? Sounds like Oregon has adopted Washington's draconian waiting periods, even if by default of not having sufficient personnel to process the background checks.

Seems they could afford to hire another mouse for the approval wheel... Let's see they process about 650 background checks a day at $10 a pop, that's $6,500 in background check revenue daily, sounds like there should be about 10 people doing these background checks at the OSP... That'd pay them say $65/hr for a 10 hour shift. Using rough/round numbers...

Ive never once had to wait was buying a lower not even a full gun the guy ahead of me had instant approval so I quess I know how it feels now

I have a CHL and I have received 2 instant approvals in the last 2 months. Yesterday I did not. I was #4523. Today I advanced to #3528.

I will say that isn't accurate either. I hadn't purchased since 1994, and was instant approved on 13MAR, and my CHL was expired.

Wrong. I've purchased five guns over the last two months. I have a unique first and last name, DPSST certified LE, and always give my SS#. Just had an eight day wait.

Bought another pistol in the interim with instant approval.... no rhyme or reason at all

Approved today, at time of submission I was at 4,500. Almost seven days to the hour.

Yep no rhyme or reason, I generally go to the front of the line with using my SSN, have a CCP, a class 6 FFL, long term Oregon resident at the same address for almost 20 years. Even 2 months ago the background check for two revolvers a week apart took less than an hour. Now a shotgun and .22 rifle are going to take a week.
