Gov. Inslee proposes $4 billion bond to assist homeless.

Lying Brandon Wannabe was called out on this in a presser two days ago, his answer was..
"Why not let the Voters decide this?"

Suddenly he cares what the People have to say.

👊 💦
Yeah right Jay, you already have the Fox in the henhouse so anything that gets voted on will go the Marxist/socialist/communist/progressive way. So sick of the fkers!!!

I'll say it again!

ONLY Assault weapons have been banned. Nothing else. Things like evil features, SBR, SBS are supposedly banned because liberals deemed to call those assault weapons.

However, they are not illegal to possess or use.

Note: NOTHING has been grandfathered. The comment about current owners can keep theirs, is not law. It's commentary about intent of law.

The fact possession is specifically left out of the ban just means owners can keep theirs. That is not grandfathered.
Short Barreled Shotguns have been banned in Washington for a very long time, long before HB1240. Even non-semiautomatic shotguns with less than 18" barrels, which will not fall under the "assault weapons" bill.

But aren't they considering handguns "Assault weapons"?
Yes...if they have a threaded barrel or other features listed in the law.

You can read the law by googling "WA HB1240" and then go to the WA Legislature
page and find the link to the text of the current bill.
I'd post the link or the text but can't figure out how to do that.

The language says:

(c) "Assault weapon" does not include antique firearms, any firearm that has been made permanently inoperable, or any firearm that is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever, or slide action."

They omitted single shots.

Aren't "pump" and "slide action" the same thing?

Molon Labe
My grandfather had it. My father had it. I have it. My son will have it. So will his.
And it it will be no problem going forward, unless you are being stupid with it. What are they going to do? Go to ranges or shoting pits and ask " Show me your papers! Is that Assault Weapon legal?" The answer is, and always will be " I don't need to showyou any papers. I don't need to answer any of your questions."

Is 1948 an antique?

As I read it the law only bans sale of frames/completed AW firearms; not individual parts - the onus on breaking the law is with the gun owner with regards to having constructive possession. I do not see where the law bans parts purchase or smithing if those guns are already in possession.

Fwiw that's how I read it too. Reading that one paragraph where it mentions parts, it looks to me that if all the parts to construct a new "AW" are all together then that would be prohibited, but not individual parts. I know some read it differently but seems to me the intent of that paragraph is an "AW" or "kit" to build one.

In my view if one read that paragraph as "any part" then any trigger, screw, roll pin, etc that could be used to make an "AW" would be prohibited. I think intent is clear that a kit to make an entire weapon is prohibited.

Single shots are a form of machine gun.

Pull and hold the trigger and they fire all their cartridges until empty.
