I am not a big fan of the movies Full Metal Jacket...and Blackhawk Down.

I do like the boot camp scenes in Full Metal Jacket.
Much of that was the same or very similar to basic training when I went into the Army...
( well no one died during my experience in basic... :D )
I found those scenes in the movie to be entertaining.
When the scenes were shifted to Vietnam...I saw too much Kubrick and not enough of the novel the movie was based on.

As for Blackhawk Down....I was there in the fight at Mogadishu ....surreal at best watching a movie about a combat deployment I was in.
Also both the book and movie take some liberties with facts / actions / people...
And yes I understand that at times this has to be done...for many different reasons.

Unpopular opinions above for sure...given the high regard for both of these movies here at NWFA
Might just have to delete this post for being divisive... :D

A few more unpopular opinions...

I don't care for :
Glock Pistols...
AR15 Rifles or Carbines...
Synthetic / polymer stocked firearms....
Nor do I really have a use for magazines that hold over 10 rounds....

Now with all that said...
I understand all of the above has its uses , and why they are popular.
I also have no wish for any of the above to be banned , restricted or made to go away , so to speak.
One should be free to own whatever firearms one wants to own.

And I am quite sure that many do not like or care for the firearms that I enjoy.

One could even argue that my opinion on firearms / the 2nd Amendment is unpopular in certain places :
Own whatever firearms you wish to own...or don't own any.
Just don't make that choice for others.

Opinions vary ...and may even change over time or with experiences.
Something to remember about opinions is...
Your opinions are "right" or correct for you and your situation...
However they may not be "right" or correct for someone else and their situation
And that is also right / correct ...since there is no one sized fits all answer.

What about a muzzleloader upper on an AR-15 lower?

Well...someone might like it.

I prefer more traditional muzzle loading firearms...
Firearms that wouldn't have Daniel Boone , Kit Carson "Wild Bill" Hickok and others wondering what the Hell is that..?

Again...
My thoughts/ opinion on firearms....
Own whatever firearms you wish...or don't own any...Just don't make that choice for others.

I dunno, I can think of a certain member here who would get one, sleeve the barrel for .223 slugs, change the ignition to use small rifle primers. Then disassemble 500 rounds of loaded 5.56 ammo, separating the components for his new 5.56 muzzlestuffer.
You've named no names, yet everyone knows exactly who you're referring to.
