Okay, so his premise is, exercising your freedom is restricting your freedom. WTF?? Does this guy really not see that he's contradicting himself? He is implying we HAVE to have gun control because people are exercising their rights. What a complete load of BS. With logic like his, he would have been taken down by a Jr High debate team.

Guns have been readily available in the US from the beginning. In fact, and I like to remind people of this often, military-grade weapons. Those muskets/rifles carried by those patriots were the exact same guns carried by the military on both sides of the conflict - the exact same. Semi automatic guns have been available for over 100 years. Rifles like the AR for around 50 years. Yet the mass shooting phenomenon, while not new in it's concept, is relatively new in the increase in frequency, really only picking up the pace in the last 20 years or so. Did people exercising their 2nd amendment rights cause this to happen? Of course not. In fact, it's interesting to note that the frequency has gone up even with more gun control in place - such as the requirement for universal BGC's.

This guy, like so many others, unfortunately, fails to look at the real core issue - society. What has changed in society to make folks more likely to do these things? It's not the presence or availability of guns, because they've been around far longer than the recent scourge of mass shootings. No, it's got to be something else. Something in our society, in our people, must be broken. And since they don't want to look at that reality, their only choice is to blame the guns, and the lawful gun owners - the ones who don't commit mass shootings, because that supposedly makes sense??

Good grief. The depths people are willing to go in abandoning reason and rationality just to try and make the case for more gun laws. Good job ACLU, you clearly know how to pick 'em. o_O
