And tell them it's a 10-round mag8.5" .458 SOCOM and a can? Just thinking out loud![]()
You could... if he had one...Bless your heart.
Looks to me to be an XM-177 Colt Commando...Just finished putting this puppy together; been gathering pieces / parts for a bit now, and it finally came together. Actually, I still need to replace the grip with a correct-for-the-period one. I'll be getting that in a couple of weeks (next gun show).

I have a Colt Sporter II that looks really quite similar to that XM-177 of your'n. I'll see if I can dig up a pic. Or just take a new one...An XM177E1 to be specific. The best I could do was an SP1 upper, but the majority of the remainder is fairly period correct; or as they say, "close enough for Government work."

I had to look up "Loaches"...I have an old 'Nam vet who was in loaches back in the day, who wants something similar to his helo gun. So, it looks like I'll be building another shortly.

I wouldn't call 63 (tomorrow!Freakin youngsters . . .
) a "freaking youngster", although I'm obviously younger than by a few years, since I wasn't old enough to serve in Vietnam at the time it was goin' on...I am aware that all US Army helos are named after Native American tribes. I'm pretty sure that does not universally apply across the entire US military apparatus. Consider, say, the US Navy's helos...Officially called a Cayuse, (military helos are all named after Native American tribes) the OH-6 helicopter, commonly called a 'Loach' was used primarily for light observation and scouting missions.
Been around mil-stuff almost my entire life, all over the world. Plus read about it like it was goin' outta style. So, while not "real familiar", I can hold my own...I've only got you by 3 years in age, but I did 20 in the Navy, so real familiar with mil-stuff.
Can we get back to talking about XM-177s?And I think that third line is s'pozed to be sump'n like:Tomorrow dudesky.

So when is the spanking? And I think that third line is s'pozed to be sump'n like:
Hippo birdies, deer sobo...![]()
