OSP: Rainier homeowner shoots armed burglar

An armed burglar was shot by a Rainier homeowner in the early morning hours of Sunday, the Oregon State Police said.

About a mile down the road from my house yesterday an intruder learned a hard lesson in rural living. My wife said her local Facebook page said it was a woman who shot the intruder. The police were down there all day yesterday and had it taped off. Let this be a lesson to those who attack our community best just to move on we are armed, the police are top notch, and we look out for each other.

I wish more stories of civilians protecting themselves would make it into the mainstream media. But I guess we know how that goes.
