I have no doubt that they build excellent stuff. I've already stated why I won't buy from them. I can buy a rifle/shotgun and take it out of the store. I get it home to find something is wrong with it. At that point I have to pony up $40 extra dollars to ship the thing back to them in order for them to remedy a manufacturing DEFECT. That is totally bogus to me. A company who has a defect should take care of it COMPLETELY and that includes getting it to them. Because they won't - I won't buy as I don't want to take the risk of what I've already experienced - having to pay to ship back a defective shotgun when they should have just said, "we'll send you a call tag, sorry for the problem."

You are absolutely correct. Even Hi-Point has excellent CS. I will not argue with that. At the same time, and I do not mean to poke fun or insult, the shotgun that you described purchasing is the absolute bottom of the line product Savage makes. Any manufacturer making that sheer number of firearms is bound to have a mistake. Hasn't everyone seen the Gun Room' photos of the guy with the GP100 barrel that blew? Still, a customer should never have to pay for a problem that serious, there is no way to argue that one.

You guys should look into the problems folks have had with Dakota Arms rifles. Buy a $3,000 rifle, it is a piece of bubblegum, send a letter to the factory, leave a voicemail and they don't even bother to respond. And that's how they treat gun writers that actually sway public opinion in what they print.
