Getting mixed reviews about scope mounts. Does anybody make a good mount?
i tried the nc star 1.5x scope and mount. the mount takes the place of the plate on the left side of reciever. to keep zero, had to tighten down so hard the action would not cycle. waste of money on that one. just use iron sights
The only one I've seen that looks effective is the Ultramax Bmag , but it's expensive and mounts the scope really far forward.
I has one on my pre ban mini. I thought something was wrong with my gun. Thing would always jam up. Took the scope mount off and gun worked perfect.
Think I finally found someone that makes a good sturdy scope mount Accuracy Systems. Now I just need to save money for it and a good scope.
Ranch rifle or not?
I found the side mounted scope mounts too high for a cheek weld, and they shot loose.
I put a Wichita sight on mine, removes the rear sight, rock solid mount.
+1 on the Wichita Mini-14 mount! Mine is a first year unit (1983) and I have never had a problem with it. Got my moneys worth for sure!
Still the best deal out there!
Thanks for the help, I well check the Wichita and Accuracy systems and decide.
I have an Amega Ranges systems pre ban mount brand new in the box. take a look and see what you think of it.
S&K makes a very good mount holds zero fine on my Mini...
Years ago I had a B-Square on a pre-ban Mini-14 that worked well.
probably going with the wichata. SnK looks to be the same but a few bucks more
Also had a B-Square mount on mine.... but uneasy about having no open (backup) sites I removed it. Love my Mini though!
