Might as well show off my sporterized Italian Carcano, chambered in 6.5x52mm. I picked this up, with a box of cartridges, for a whopping 60 bucks back in '99.

Czechoslovakian VZ24, 8mm mauser. The barrel has been cut down and tapered, the bolt handle has been turned down, Lyman peep sight and Lyman front sight were added.

I took a spike buck with it back in '09. :)

Very nice. The price of K98's has skyrocketed. It is unbelievable, almost ridiculous. I wish I had bought a couple more.

I have a 1940 660 (Steyr) and a 1944 byf (Mauser Oberndorf) - also, East and West captures. Both shoot extremely well with the Yugo 8mm sniper loads, accuracy on par with my M39 Finn. As soon as I can get a picture of them side by side I will post it here.

Those two are great shooters too. K98’s are underrated as shooters.

A shortie that didn’t make into the last group photo. Argentine 91/31 engineer carbine.

One might wonder why such a short rifle needs 3 barrel bands... as I understand it, the engineer carbine was meant to be a low-production gun, and only around 5500 were made. The Argentines didn’t consider it wise to develop a new bayonet for so few rifles, and figured they’d just re-use the Remington rolling block bayonets they already had on hand instead... so the odd barrels bands were to accommodate said bayonet.
