Wow! The site certainly has changed! Burt is a voice of reason!?! Oh yeah, Burt, don't forget the CRACK/TWANG of the M-14/M1-A! Baddest bang out there!

On the change/radicalization of the forum, it sure has! I have read about the reflection of the media and society. Fair enough, but as far as my personal posts are concerned, I'm upset, frustrated and angry about the problems faceing our country (self inflicted wounds to my eye) and the direction the country is heading! I, like many others, joined to talk Glocks and rocks (which is best). But, and it is unfortunate, the forum has given me a place to vent my frustration. So I have contributed plenty of spleen to grease the slope that the site is sliding down and I have no solution, I doubt that there is one.

By all means, just bury your heads and listen to what Chris Matthews and other enemies of freedom have to say. Don't be "negative". Don't actually read the writing on the wall. Listen to the people that bashed Bush up, down and sideways tell you not to bash The O. You now need to have respect for that office, even though 5 years ago all you heard were taunts of "not MY President", or "Bush/Cheney need to go to prison for war crimes". Funny, the new guy breaks twice the rules in half the time and we're supposed to "stop being negative". The great Liberal mantra for "I can't combat you with reality, so I will point out your "negativity".".

Bullbubblegum. The OP may be a bit out there, but anybody not upset is either complicit or to stupid to be of any value.

I agree. I have made a serious study of history both professionally and in the service of my country. I was just a couple years too young for Vietnam but remember all of the big assasinations in 60s, the debacle that was the Carter Admin and so on up to this day. As Uncle K said, you have to be pretty oblivious not to see the intentional; both overt and insidious dismantling of our civil, constitutional and human rights if you disagree with the party in power. Is it time to fix bayonets, no, pay attention and work through the electoral process, hell yeah! I have enough faith in my fellow Americans that we can swing the pendulum BACK in 2014. If we can't or simply do not prepare for the worst because its unthinkable, can't happen or too tinfoil hat far fetched then we are truly allowing ourselves to be flim flammed or too apathetic and old to care. To me, the tipping point will be 2014, as our best civil way to to stem this tide of socialism. These people know, the only way they can achieve their ultimate goal of "socialsim, nanny state is to disarm the citizenry. History is replete with examples. There is nothing wrong with being ready in a minute. Hopefully enough people will wake up and reverse the course in 2014.

I just don't know that it can be turned around. I do believe that voting R in '14 is a step in the right direction, but it isn't that simple. Most of the R's work for the same guys as the D's(Graham, McCain, McConnell and now Rubio. Cruz and Paul are the only "real" chance for a man of taste and decency to be put in office.).

As long as ANY politician can sit on a board policing whatever(oil, nuclear, pharmaceutical's, whatever) can have his campaign paid for, then have a $250k/year "consulting" job waiting for them when they "retire"('cuz being a Senator was supposed to be a CAREER, right?), all paid for by THE PEOPLE WE HIRED THEM TO POLICE IN THE FIRST PLACE, we will never even be able to hope for "fair".

For me, at this point checking the R over the D is simply the lesser of two evils. I will continue to do it, but I don't think it's even a stopgap in it's current form. It's definitely not a long-term solution.

I love my country, but I love my wife and son more. That's why I brought them to the middle of nowhere. I think we have a tough road ahead and all the fools that vote for Clinton in '16 can have the cities. Anyone from an infant to an octogenarian from Georgia to Washington can be murdered on the street already. I wonder what Detroit will look like in 1 year? 2? 5? No thanks.

I'm all for fixing it, I just can't see how it can really be done.

That makes two of us. I got turned on to this site for the classified section. Since then, I have found a lot of like-minded people. I have learned a lot and I would like to think I have taught a lot, but I'm OK with just learning. This is where I come to use my 1A rights to express my feelings about my 2A rights.

"If I had a website, it would look a lot like the NWFA Legal/Political section."

WTF, since when was being for the Constitution and the Republic "radicalization?" I am sorry but for 230 years that was the norm. The current folks in power only care about their agenda, not the American people nor what we have stood for. That's why they jerry rig elections... Remember Dino Rossi? he won that governor's race. He lost only because a Republican Secretary of State stood up, and stood his ground on the LAW of the land. It was unpopular and allowed Christine the mansion, but it was the law. The fault lies within the counties who allowed worthless votes to be counted. But Sam Reed stood on principle. Benghazi happened because there is no one in charge with principles, before, during or after that debacle. Life isn't fair but America used to have a clear national conciousness of fairness.
I don't think its too late to get it back. There's 15% of folks second guessing their last vote. We need them to get back on the right side of the fence. Logically, patriotically, and intelligently persuaded.

.Last I checked, even though the executive branch is interested in controlling guns, the other two branches of government are not interested, even the democratically controlled senate has zero interest in discussing gun control. However, at the same time they're unwilling to even take up the matter of rolling back the affordable care act..
It kinda makes one wonder, what with the NSA and IRS shenanigans, if the present administration doesn't have/gotten hard and filthy dirt on about everyone. Be very easy to do.
Oopsies! I now own your ***.. whatcha goin do except dance like I like. and shut up about it

It seems like one of those roman traditions that should probably be brought back.... If you've really done things that are so wrong that fear of exposure will make you bend blindly to the will of others who will make everyone situation worse: it's time to fall on your sword.

unfortunately this is the time when people do not take personal responsibility and surly not anyone above regular civilians

What I find entertaining is a rant about the NWO where the person doing the rant will then talk about 'voting' or some other useless endeavor or system designed to make an individual falsely believe they are free, that they have choices.

We live in a literal Matrix, an ant farm of sorts. For someone to believe that they are going to change anything via a voting booth or the trigger of an AR-15 is laughable.

There is/was a small window of opportunity in the last fifteen years or so for people to learn some truth via alternative media/internet, but the people have made it abundantly clear that they want to remain willfully ignorant.

An awakening on a mass scale was desired by many, and saw as a Hail Mary pass of sorts. It was hoped that once access to alternated information was available the average person would desire truth.

Unfortunately, people would rather keep the status quo intact, falsely believe they have choices and freedoms. No one wants to pull back the curtain and see the uncomfortable truth(s). That truth is that we are dominated, manipulated, deluded slaves.

We have had it pretty good in the Matrix for a long time. 40+ years of fake prosperity via the dollar Ponzi scam while most of the rest of the world lived in poverty. All that is changing however in the not too distant future. We are heading for a very rude awakening. Our owners are dead set on a world bank, global control and governance, and removal of any and all individual rights. It is just a matter of time until they achieve those goals.

You can ignore reality but not the consequences of ignoring reality.

Just more reason to enjoy each day as these are the last of the good times. Because they are.

I'll tell you what, the spiral slowed when Republican's were in power. If I get the chance, I'll vote for them again if it will buy more time. I a not sure there will be a vote by the time November, 2016 rolls around.

I've been told since I was born that the world couldn't possibly last longer than 5 years from any given point. I'm still waiting for that guaranteed 9.5 earthquake Oregon would have before the end of the '80's, '90's, '00's and now this decade.

I do believe that it's all a scam, but I don't necessarily believe the times run out yet. I'll keep living and preparing to be self-sustained when the time comes.

What I don't understand is how so many people that claim to know of our demise keep so close to a major metropolitan area. I wouldn't want to be caught within 50 miles of Portland when something goes down.

Freedom is now considered freedom of choice in what consumers can numb their minds with and shove in their pieholes.

We (the US Society as a whole) used to value work, now we value wealth.

We are no longer considered citizens - we are consumers, placated with the newest smart phones, electrical gizmos, processed food, and cheap plastic crap at walmart.

We used to be interested in ideas, now we are more concerned with Miley's rubber pants and who plays Batman in the 14th sequel.

The arguing over R vs. D is a ruse to divide and distract from the real issues, and people eat it up as if their lives depended on it - identifying their neighbors as "enemies".

Our silence is bought and paid for by corporations (with the more than willing assistance of all levels of government) that are best able to quench our thirst for instant gratification.

Very well put and exactly why I dumped the rat race. Hannah Montana' rubber pants(I don't even know what that's referring to and I am thankful for that.) just don't mean anything to me.

The only thing I would take issue with in this post is that you are correct about neighbors being enemies. I hate to say it, but the fact is that anyone that has so much as a loaded magazine for self defense or SHTF has it to use against their neighbor. An invasion of American soil is almost ridiculous(yet not impossible), leaving only our countrymen to shoot with our "Zombie AmmoTM".

I believe the R and D separation is fleeting. People are starting to realize the futility of voting for the same people with a different name(yes, I will still continue to do it, but I'm not sure why anymore.). The O promising hope and change and then immediately extending The Patriot Act kind of makes you realize that they really are the same. Once anyone is given that kind of power, they will be loathe to give it up. That is also why any time an "emergency" occurs, the police force doesn't use tactics necessary until the "threat" is gone, they use the tactics from there on out. If you don't believe me, check out what happened with 9/11. Then check out the "temporary" Federal income tax from 1913. 100 years later and we give most of our money to an illegal, temporary tax that is 98 years expired. Again, give them any "temporary" power and you children's grandchildren will live to regret it.

But don't type or say anything about it. That would give the DHS the right to use drones on American soil.

I don't believe your observation of the narrowing separation between the Red and the Blue is correct. You can look at posts on this forum and see how quickly people are labelled, Liberals, Leftists, extremists from both sides, gays are bad, there is overt racism, democrats hate guns, and rights, the president becomes Obummer, etc. If you disagree with something an OP says you are a troll or a Bot, an enemy.

There are suggestions of violence towards sub-genre's in SHTF scenarios, and stereotypes, are thrown around all over the place. You are identified as either Right Wing a "diseased leftist", a phrase I've actually seen used, staunch Conservative, or a Liberal. There is no meeting ground for discussion, unless it's to exchange insults while one person tells the other that they are wrong, which are also in abundance.

Although no new firearms laws passed they way as well have done, as people asking for BOS's and background checks on private sales has increased, and given some of the absolutely hate filled rhetoric that is spouted on here I don't blame them. I, like a lot people joined this site to trade and talk about firearms and shooting sports, there are members here who do nothing but the opposite, and actively divide members of the community.

Who the hell is this, and what have you done with DireWolf?!!!! :s0131:

I don't recall ever seeing a post along these lines come from you, DireWolf... I like it! :s0155:

Leftism is a disease! The real question is how you want the cure to be administered.... Will you self inoculate or will the Health Czars force feed you the Federalist Papers? Instant gratification, that's a fairy tale today

You did a fine job of completely misunderstanding me.

What I was saying is that the people presented to us as R or D aren't any different. There are absolute differences in Americans whose individual ideals reflect the R or the D, but the puppets(Obummer being one) aren't any different.

See, there is also an element on this forum that implies that any argument against the bullbubblegum being forced down our throats is "negative" and "combatant". Of course it is. What else would any argument be at it's core? I feel sorry for anyone that disagrees with me that isn't passionate enough to call me out. Not that you disagree, but that you could be so emasculated as to suggest we shouldn't even disagree any more.

Leftism is in fact a disease. Anyone that thinks my rights are on any bargaining table is in fact the enemy. Anyone with goals of the continued stripping of American values has no place in my world. "Tolerance" is still just another word for not having the fortitude to care about right or wrong anymore. I'll never stoop to that level.

But hey, you joined for talk of shooting sports and firearms. Why even spread your obvious Lefty views in the Legal/Political section? Anyone tired of people posting opinions in the opinion section should be angry at the existence of that section in the first place.
