There goes buehler saying "common sense gun control"

3 day waiting period on hand gun purchase
21 to buy 'salt weapons
ban bump stocks
supported the "boyfriend loop hole" legislative. But explains that more should be done than simply taking guns. He insisted that mental help should be a follow up and getting the input from the individual instead of take take take.

This is it men, we're down to the line and its either Brown stains, a RINO turncoat or an Independent.... Especially like that the whole process was a Q/A session from high school kids....

Patrick Starnes didn't answer too much into the question other than "a special license for harmful equipment" which makes me think more power of the State to allow/deny if you can legally purchase or own firearms or who knows what kind of required training before being able to nor fee's involved.

For those unaware of Patrick Starnes,
Patrick Starnes for Governor

So basically what I took from it is this:

Buehler: Wont do much until a PERS resolution is on his desk
Brown: SSDD
Starnes: Get big money out of politics, crickets on everything else

I mean... on this basic issue of gun rights...

Public enemy 1: Kate Brown. she will push for worse laws than Cali

Public enemy 2 : Knute Buehler. In favor of gun control , doesn't say will push for them. Has publicly gone on record as supporting gun rights before this. Pandering to take more votes from the Left? Maybe. Sticking to winning the conservative voting base? Doesn't seem like it.

How so? I didn't watch.
Okay lemme spell it out.

Prior to this.
1) came out stating he supports abortion (lost the faith based pro life segment of the conservative bloc)

And now this.
2) in favor of raising age to purchase assualt weapons to 21 (heres a thing, its not defined in Oregon Law yet... that tells ya anything?)

3) banning bump stocks. (Maybe following Trump,.maybe not)

4) supports the extreme risk protection law which confiscate guns. Claims to say its not just that but needs more mental health support

Now.. all of these together... quite the leftist positions there

What it means.. there's no viable candidate running Centrist/R of center positions, unless ya count "less left than Kate" to be centrist :rolleyes::oops:

All 3 were gun control Nazis. This is very very bad.

Ya its pick your poison at this rate.

Id be more leaning to Starnes but i dont feel a license is the right choice for gun owning or operation. I feel thats a tilt towards more state control open for a future D to twist.

Buehler coming in hot with supporting the common sense meme with a "balanced moderate" approach doesnt give me much confidence that he wont try to appease all sided but fall short and buckle under.

We already know Kates in deep pockets of anti constitutionalist groups.

This whole debate was a bubblegum show to me since it really didnt hit on a lot of topics (to me at least) and the whole pitch was from high school kids who barely know their bubblegum from their elbows. I hope we get another debate before november.

At this rate its a battle for House/Senate seats that will really matter in Oregon, though we pretty much are up against a majority D seat stack.

They're all asking for conservative Oregonians to take up arms to take our government back, so be it.

Which flavor of Socialist do you prefer? Because I believe there's not enough conservative vote in this state to elect a true conservative...

If Knute doesn't win, a gun ban will happen. Vote Knute.

If Kate wins we'll have an AWB of some kind next year, guaranteed. Just way too many photo ops this year w/ student-dork gun control activists in Portland. No way she turns her back on them. We are all going to pay for other people's idiot kids going Rambo at school.

If the provisions on IP43 don't sound like a good deal, vote Kate out. The only way that happens
is if everybody VOTES Knute. Hold your nose, cuss, whatever gets it done. Personally having my 10-22
classified as an "Assault Weapon" and having to individually register every magazine I have that can
hold over 10 rds doesn't have much appeal--and I can overlook a LOT of RINO crap to keep that from happening.

If IP43 sounds like a good deal (and you can bet the legislature will hang an Emergency Clause on it so you
have no after the fact recourse) then you have some choices. Vote Kate. Don't vote. Write in Sam, or
Mickey Mouse or your dog. Any of these will help get Kate elected.

Seriously---Oregon has had a Democrat Trifecta since 2013, and it needs to stop if the state is to survive.
At least ONE of the Governor/House/Senate need to flip to red or the "progressive" taxes and legislation
will just keep coming. Best chance this year is to put Knute in the governor's chair. He's not what we
would like, but compared to Kate he is what we need.

sorry to see this guys....but the hand writing has been on the wall for 3-4 years now it merely needed to be implemented ...even the repubs in this state are liberals and after moving out of state BECAUSE of the corrupt politicians in Oregon...... I cant tell you how much better I sleep not worrying when are my "Oregonian friends & neighbors" going to MAKE ME A FELON by vote...because its coming in this the 11th most corrupt state in the country :(
scream .....will not comply..... all you want but your friends and neighbors will still make you a felon

go socialists!

Knute is our only/best option in this election. It will be him or Brown - no independent, etc. He may be a RINO, but he's far more center than Kate. We know what she wants. We know what she will push for. Knute is likely to just be wishy-washy rather than actively attacking our rights. He will be getting my vote, if for no other reason than to stop KB.

Typical republican logic.

I'm never going to vote Democratic. So there is no way I'll vote for Brown.

This Knute guy isn't a real republican, not voting for him.

Oh look a guy that has like 0% chance of winning. Well he isn't the other two, so I'll vote for him.

Kate would NEVER refuse to sign an anti-gun, anti-gunOwner, or tax/spend law or scheme.
If a particularly egregious bill were to land on Knute's desk, I believe he could be swayed to veto it... I don't believe he's an idealogue like Brown.
