I was not there personally and don't know how the call came into to the officers and I also don't know what the initial officer was thinking based on the information he had, but if I saw someone walking around with an AR-15, regardless of race, color, etc.. it would alarm me if I did not know the person carrying the weapon. Protecting myself or my family would come to the top of my list as I assess the situation.

While I may not have made the guy lay on the ground I would probably spoken to him from a safe position to see what was going on and then go from there.

If they err to the side of rights and the guy goes on a shooting spree they are again on the short end of the stick. Either way they will be criticized. Law enforcement are not mind readers. They are human beings and human beings make mistakes.

If it sounds like I support law enforcement I do. I think they have enough going on not to have them bothered by people trying to make a big show and gain negative attention. The law enforcement officers I know are very supportive of gun rights and are themselves very into guns and will do everything they can to support us, but they still have a job to do and still have to respond to calls like this from the public who don't support our beliefs.

Rant over.

Had one or both been shot (she was standing in the line of fire), both of those cameras would have been wiped of that video.
The ACLU (carrying firearms is a civil liberty) now has an app that when "stop" is pressed, that video is sent immediately to their cloud servers that can't be erased or tampered with by the police.

FYI- the ACLU openly disagrees with the SCOTUS decision that the 2A is an individual right, and hold that it pertains to the States' rights to organize militias. They therefore refuse to represent against 2A violations of the individual. o_O

Of course the ACLU only supports "civil rights/liberties" when it fits within their socialist ideology and goals.

Yea I hear you. This is a service/app and may well turn their hand when a big bad copper blasts a 7mo pregnant female etc.
If there were another app for this that I knew about that did this, I'd have brought that up.
Again, they just archive what's sent.

I'm not really in the mind set that open carrying an ar15 is a good idea either. I do feel that immediately drawing a weapon on anyone regardless of race calmly walking down the street just for having a weapon on their shoulder is an overreaction. Asking the man to stop and put down his weapon from a safe distance first would have been better.

I just found this on a Texas gun forum and can't believe it. If this is for real, it's efed up. Can you Oregon guys shed some light on this? Has anybody heard of this event or have seen this video? Can you guys figure out where this happened?

First: Albany Oregon
Second: Fallon Nevada.

Albany Oregon, pot smoking liberal arts students.
Fallon Nevada, meth smoking gang member's.

Sounds like a "social experiment" intentionally designed to make police look racist.

Put them both in South Central LA and see how well it goes.
