Sounds like it could be very cool. I'm curious as to what you're teaching with pistol. I'm an active NRA pistol instructor. If we're going beyond basic skills and doing run 'n gun, then I'm in for both days.

About equipment, check out the website, look for the Equipment tab at the bottom.

One thing myself and my instructors will not do, is judge equipment...unless two things occur...1 - A piece of equipment causes a safety issue with the shooter and/or the other people around them,.2 - It interferes with the efficiency of what we are teaching. With 2 point we will make suggestions to help the shooter become more efficient, but nothing more than that, unless we are asked specifically.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned from the AK shoot was that my sling setup didn't work for me. But thanks to some advice to loop it around the stock differently it is now way more comfortable and functional.

This is not Run N Gun, this is Run The Gun. Learning how to run your gun, not your gun running you. Getting to the point where you're concentrating on what's out in front of you, not what's in your hands.

This is basic skills, but useful for the street and your home.

In all my years of teaching and sitting in on LE AAR's, I've not heard one person say...Steve, that was an advanced gunfight I was in. No, what I hear most often...my training didn't prepare me for that.

I firmly believe there are no advanced skills, there's skills waiting for you to accomplish...this will set you on the course for that.

Member Levetti, in the post above attended the NW AK Meet and Greet a couple weeks ago. He can chime in and give you a taste of what I teach.

Am glad its working out for you. I don't get major equipment problems very often, usually its what you describe...just a slight adjustment here and there.

I edited the poll to allow for two choices...a class choice and a time of week choice.

I'm going to look thru my training calendar and throw some dates out there.

I have been looking for an opportunity to do some formal training of some sort, but I'm not sure what skills the OP is offering. I've read that "run n gun" is a possibility, but I'm not familiar with the term.
I also have plenty of firearms to train with, but I'm not sure of what types of supporting gear the training opportunity would require.
Alas, I am very interested and would be happy to pre-pay for a two day weekend event providing the training course is within my needs.
Thanks for the invite, great way to build community in our community!

Go to my website cerberus-training.com Look for the "Reviews" tab at the bottom of the page. Those reviews posted are all from a Run The Gun class. That should give you an idea what to expect.

No fancy equipment is needed. I teach in jeans and a shirt...no tactical store here. Anything you bring will work, or we can make it work and give you ideas on how to make it work. Have had people use 30 carbines, AK's and one guy used a Garand.

There's no stress, just come with what you have and a relaxed attitude and we will have a great time.

I voted 1 day of pistol only because I don't have a rifle that I'd want to use (I only own a tube fed 22 and a .270 hunting rifle). If it ends up being a two day class would it be possible to only register for the pistol day?

So far the poll shows that the masses want a 2 day class, with a 1 day combo next.

Will see what the final results are, and might offer both.

So I posted this, but it was an edit to my post, so not sure if you saw it. If you have empty slots in a 2 day class, you can fill it with people like me that only want to do a 1 day.

At this point, looking over my training schedule the rest of the year, I think the best thing to offer...is a Friday combo, followed by a Saturday/Sunday two day class.
