Even if guns were illegal, as long as lathes are around, your average mechanically inclined joe with access to a lathe can make one. They would fetch a premium on the black market if they were harder to obtain but still. Just look at how many shootings go on in Chicago even when guns ARE banned, and lets not forget the 2x4 video where the gangs find other ways to kill each other.

As someone who comes from a leftist background, I apologize to everyone on here for the way my favorite SC Justices voted. I liked how they voted on campaign finance reform, but were overruled.

I disagree with the current SCOTUS on just about everything else, but while we do have a conservative majority, I think we should knock down the red tape to obtain handguns in liberal cities like Washington DC and Chicago.

Democrats do not want to ban ALL guns. If you look at their party platform on the measure, and its of rather low priority on their list of things to do, they want to reinstate the assault rifle ban, which I plan on buying either an AK47 or AR15 if BO gets elected again, even though I plan to vote for him in 2012. I might stock up on more assault rifles than I need to resell if it looks like hes getting a second term. Depends on what his competition is.

I knew it was instalose when McCain nominated Palin.

I believe that we should let people wallow in the fruits of their own stupidity.

People who live in areas like Chicago keep electing officials who promote stricter gun control. As a result, The only people who are armed there are criminals.
The people who are effected by this are collectively responsible for this.

I believe that they should either elect pro-gun officials, or move somewhere that is more gun friendly and less dangerous.

Yes, Daley is a thug, a criminal in my opinion. He didn't like the sound of airplanes at Meigs field and went out in the middle of the night like a crook and ripped up the runway. Why he is still in office instead of in jail where he belongs is beyond me, except that Chicago has a lot of stupid people residing in it.

Campaign finance reform was a joke. The only reason the four justices voted for it, was because it would limit the special interest groups who would put money towards conservative candidates and interests. I would have no problem with that, if it also was written to include the unions and other sources that contribute huge sums of money towards liberal candidates and interests. Either ban ALL of the special interest money, or let All special interest money in. If teachers unions, and the SEIU can drop loads of money into promoting their agenda and candidates, then by god the NRA and big corporations should be able to do the same thing. My personal opinion is that we need to get all of the special interest money out of politics completely, but that isn't going to happen.

I will not vote for any candidate who wants to ban any firearms. BHO was on record voting for a outright ban on handguns when he was a Senator. If you don't think he will go after gun rights if people give him a second term, I don't know what to say. I guess to each their own.

Funny, we have to go to court to protect our gun rights from liberal socialist. The four liberal socialist judges voted against our constitutional right to have guns. I doubt the liberals here will ever get the point it's them that we have to protect our rights from. Usefull idiots.
