Recently killed time watching a George Clooney film called "The American" where he plays some ultra secret gun expert assassin.

If you want to see really dumb and bad gun handling and some hot female nudity, check it out.

The Zero was lightly built It's agility, speed and range were all because of it's light weight. American planes like the P-40 and the Wildcat couldn't get in a turning fight with a Zero because it would out maneuver them.So American pilots used the strengths of their plane to best advantage by diving through Japanese formations. The Zero couldn't dive with the American planes because it's wings would shear off in a power dive. Also one of the reasons the P-38 Lightning was so successful in the Pacific. The Zero was a nasty surprise, but the Americans figured it out and used tactics to beat it and so they did until the likes of the Lightning and then the Hellcat and Corsair came on the scene. When they arrived on the scene, it was game over for Japanese aviation. Japanese industry wasn't up to the task of developing newer, better planes. When they did come up with a design, they lacked the resources to truly develop and mass produce them. And when they did come up with something decent like the Jack, they lacked the materials to build quantity and they lacked the skilled pilots to fly them.

Also, I hate it when a guy shoots his Glock dry in a movie and it goes click, click click.

here's a link to why the Zero didn't have these features compared to US aircraft.

"At the beginning of World War II, Japanese planes lacked armor and self-sealing fuel tanks. The lack of armor was a matter of weight. Japanese engines lagged behind American and European engines in power. For adequate speed, Japanese designers had to forego armor [Horikoshi]. Later in the war, some later Japanese aircraft did use armor. This included some later versions of the Mitsubishi Zero. However, the Zero's designer decried the addition because it slowed the already marginal fighter [Horikoshi]."

And here I was thinking that the main problem with the Zero was that the pilots kept crashing them into our ships o_O

Not gun related but you are watching a movie and there is a couple in a bar or at a table talking and sipping from their glass and they change the angle of the shot and the glasses change drink levels several times through the conversation. One glass will be 1/3 full and the camera changes angles and the glass is full and in the next shot is half full all the while the person has been talking and has not taken a drink. Or they show a window shot during a conversation and you see a car parked outside and 2 seconds later there is a different car parked there.

No don't. You'll suffer almost the entire time!!! IMO one of the worst movies ever...

If one likes Clooney, and I don't, stick with Peacemaker or Oh Brother Where Art Thou!

Or they're smoking a cigarette that is half smoked, then freshly lit.

Why do they always have to whip out a gun and hold it up and then cock it?
The world's best bad guys and they carry empty chamber!
Condition 1, if your gonna carry, carry like you actually mean it!

good guy "bang bang bang a 7 shot semi auto that shoots about 40 rounds" then when the bad guy gives up
you see the good guys gun is empty and the slide is locked back ...

I'm in the middle of watching all 261 episodes of NYPD Blue, The police station house at 321 E. 5th St. in NYC was and is a real police station. Over the front door, it says, 321, the address. Featured hundreds of times in the series. Same building was used in the Kojak series. Yet in one episode of NYPD Blue, one of the characters verbally gives out the address of the station house as 111 E. 5th St. Stoopid little detail. I guess that writer lives in Hollywood, not NYC.

When in a western, two guys fighting over an uncocked six shooter, and it goes off killing one of them! Just saw this happen on an episode of Banana! (Bonanza)

Probably been mentioned, but:
* endless capacity magazines for the good guys,
* bulletproof drywall or common household furniture like a couch, etc.
* guns that never ever fail, jam, etc.
* ricochet noises off sand or dirt.

I actually like it when movies show guns fail. For example, a great scene in The Road Warrior is when Max tries to fire his shotgun and it fails due to old ammunition.
