Stupid games, stupid prizes. Everyone with half a brain knows gun ownership in California has the same rules as Fight Club - don't talk about it. Bragging that your apartment is a great sniping perch is more than a little dumb. Getting in an altercation with other residents and building security to the point where they call the cops is idiotic. Having your "arsenal" of banned weapons on display on your couch so it's the first thing people (including the cops) see when they walk into your apartment is a special kind of stupid.

Yes, I've laughed at news coverage before where they discuss a "raid" on a home "arsenal" then the pictures show a Mossberg bolt action shotgun, a .22 rifle, a couple of pistols and a couple hundred rounds of ammo. What a joke. They have no idea how many "home arsenals" there are and how sizable some can be.

Oy vey.... I guess the point is we're not supposed to have any guns. Or ammo. My scoped .22 auto and .22 Ruger pistol and a box of 500 .22lr would constitute a sniping outfit. At least the squirrels think so... Glad I didnt move to Cali when I was deciding where I wanted to spend my life... Almost did over a woman but the Rockies called me more ardently... Fortunately where I live the cops own as many or more personal firearms than I do and don't think much of it...

My wife cringes a little every time the news talks about "an Arsenal Found" Or hundreds of rounds of ammo. She usually gives me the look! Or asks What are you going to do when the news sees your gun room?
Now I have cut way down and given each of my boys a start on their own Arsenal. But I still have more than three. DR

1000 rounds is a typical order of just one ammo type for many. I've even been thinking about getting 6000 round bundles because the cost per round get so tempting.

I wonder how many rounds of ammo an law enforcement office runs though at the range in a month. It seems like they're shocked that anyone would have 1000 rounds of ammo, but never look abashed about the comment.
