Please tell me the person who was wearing the tac holster posts here. I've been in a crappy mood with this cold, but that would absolutely cheer me up to know that Barney is a posting member here.

I bet he wears biking spandex at the gym to ride the stationary bike, too.

YOU DO, DON'T YOU? You're THAT guy.

I can understand carrying with the bluetooth bit in one's ear. Because when you do that, the rest of us harbor feelings of beating you to death with a prosthetic leg of some sort. Because you're also "that guy."

Why divide amongst ourselves? Aren't there enough anti's out there trying to take our rights away? Why split hairs on how he does it? I don't choose open carry or own a drop leg but he's a gun owner and therefore on our side. I'm not going to pick him apart for how he chooses to go about it.

Because when you go to an extreme with something ,then people start questioning the validity of your argument.

Extreme is different for everyone, and for most these days, open carry in an urban environment is extreme.

This makes the people that open carry look like extremest and vigilante types. Therefore, anti gunners don't even listen to their (or in this case any pro gun person's) side of the story.

So I don't want to be grouped in with these guys.I am not the same pro gunner as they are.I don't feel they do any good for keeping our 2nd amendment rights
I think they do just the opposite.

It isn't splitting hairs,it's trying to keep our 2nd amendment rights, even though some pro gunners always have to push the boundaries and make us all look bad

I'm asking anybody, not anyone in particular.
Why support this guy? Do you know him personally?
Have you seen him, been around him on a daily basis to know for a certainty that he wasn't been aggressive?

Have you seen the security camera footage?

Maybe the guy had too many people staring at him and he felt threatened. And in turn started to scare others.
Maybe he isn't a good candidate for open carry
Why support him? Just because he was open carrying?

Even though I have the right to open carry or CC,I don't very often.
Why? Because I really don't know if I can kill someone.
And I ain't gunna pull the gun and just point it at ya.
If my family is involved ,there is no question

If he got escorted out of a mall and then decided to try another store,he is just looking for HIS 15 minutes of fame.
Why support this?

They said a couple of CCP holders were wondering what his problem was.

How about if you are going to support this guy,you get some facts and talk to witnesses your self to see if the polices' actions weren't warranted?

So can a black man flaunt his constitutional right to be free of slavery?

How about a Christian "open carrying" a cross around his neck in public? surely he is provoking other faiths and atheists

How about refusing a warrant-less search? surely if they have nothing to hide they should let then law invade their private property at will.

Aren't women campaigners just flaunting their suffrage right to vote?

How about gay citizens having their own parade?

Are we seeing a pattern here?

so if im looking back at these posts im gathering that these guys on this site took pics of there self out in public open carrying just trying to look like badasses . i really think you guys look pretty stupid you wouldnt intimidate me but i can see how some anti gunner would think what is this guy about to do . i really think you all do it for the shock factor and that is a really dumb reason .or they may think that obama is in the area and you must be secret service with the bluetooth in your ear. LOL

A pattern of poorly chosen examples to make a point that fails? Yes.

Perception equals reality for many people. People that desire to open carry are decisively in the minority of the general population, and even amongst gun owners that group isn't a dominant group. If I wasn't a gun owner and I saw a group of guys displaying their firearms in a self-supporting sewing circle, I'd probably just shake my head. And the second I saw someone sporting a tactical holster looking like an out-of-place dork I'd likely think that maybe it's time to take guns away from you people because boys should quit pretending they're GI Joe by age 11.

As it stands, I am a gun owner and just shake my head at how the public is perceiving things like this.

Perception indeed. So would you infringe on the rights of these "minorities" regardless of their not meeting your standards of what is acceptable constitutional practice?

I'm asking you personally, had you the power to tell them "no you cannot open carry" as you are see they doing so in the posted picture, would you allow them or not allow them?

Do you really think they are doing this to be intimidating? My guess it is a 2nd amendment rights protest/statement and has nothing to do with intimidation, but that's just my opinion.

well i guess i just figured a protest is about something your being deprived of

A WA citizen was deprived of his right to carry.
You can also protest stigma.

Some people protest to make people more informed and comfortable towards people with mental illness.
Strategies for reducing stigma toward persons with mental illness

The Million Man March was a self proclaimed protest to “convey to the world a vastly different picture of the Black male”.

A protest to break the stigma against lawful open carry is the only way to assure the right continues.
If people had taken this stance earlier, then perhaps Kirby wouldnt have been the possible victim of stigma.

That particular group in the picture? Absolutely. I can think of quite a few people I wouldn't have a problem practicing open carry. That group is not one of them.

Or do you want to talk about the concept of open carry itself? Pick one.

/inappropriate racial joke

Why was the Million Man March an abysmal failure?

Only three men missed work.

Told to me by a black man. Get over it.

listen i dont want to get into a big argument over this . because i really dont have a problem with open carry or concealed i just think that concealed is a better way to go about it . i live in a rural area and i do open carry when im out hunting , fishing , going for walks in the woods . but normally if i go to town i will conceal just so i have the tactical advantage . if i went to the big city i definently would conceal because i just dont want people to see my guns and point and stare and most important i dont want to talk to the cops about it . i guess im just not into confrontations especially when guns are involved.
