Actually it doesn't. While it's badly written overall, there is a line in there that says it's still legal to own if they were purchased before the ban took effect.
So they're only limiting the used ones?"A group of lawmakers introduced a measure in Washington on Thursday that aims to end the sale of large-capacity ammunition, used by mass shooters"
The ignorant runs deep with these fools.
Yes. We can no longer buy used booluts from mass shooters. So they're only limiting the used ones?
look how that worked out for owning a full auto...US Constitution
Article 1, Section 9, Clause 3
"No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed."
Source, US Constitution
Actually, I believe they could pass this law if they had the votes. I'm not a legal scholar, but my understanding of ex-post facto is making something that was done in the past, which was legal at the time, illegal. The federal government is forbidden from making ex-post facto laws. They can't make you a criminal for something that you already own.
Again, I'm not a legal scholar (I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night though) but I believe it is legal, in terms of ex-post facto. Again, I believe it is unconstitutional for other reasons. It would be ex-post facto if they said you must register your "assault weapons" and because you didn't register them in the past you are now a criminal. If I understand ex post facto laws correctly, the requirement to register "assault weapons" in the State of Conneticut is unconstitutional. It was legal to own them unregistered before, so how could it be illegal to own them unregistered now?
Are these as well made and reliable as factory glock mags?kcimags.com has their 17 round glock mags for $6.99 if you're into those like I am.
Are these as well made and reliable as factory glock mags?
This bill, if passed, WOULD NOT make normal capacity mags that you owned before the implementation date, illegal. See highlighted section.
