Yikes! (Though me and the Mrs only regularly frequent Native American casinos in our home state.)
The lawyers smelled the money. Win or lose, the law---yers always get payed, you know, its all about the money!Apparently the MGM and insurer's lawyers thought these claims had a decent chance of prevailing.
Did they ever find the shooter? I forgot. And 1 guy could only do that if he was a military trained sniper. MaybeCoroners report never id'ed victim injuries with ballistics taken in evidence. ?
A lone man fired over 500 rounds with a better than 75% hit ratio in 13 minutes from over 300+ - 500 yards away using both 7.62 and 5.56?
Why all those rifles? Why bring bolt guns?
Way too many questions - but if you stop asking, we'll give you money.

One guy as the report says. But that's a lot of people shot. His think they would of scattered fast. Not at all. They nailed his but after a short gun battle. As for being a sniper, no!! He had a lofted position with a very crowded area below... he rained down bullets, spraying the crowd without aiming. If he had aimed, a lot more would have been killed vs injured.
His think they would of scattered fast.
Also according to reports, there was no place to go. They were fenced in... as is typical for most outdoor concerts.
Now you have gotten to why the settlement.
The lawyers for MGM and the insurer did not smell any money, other than the millions in income they were giving up by recommending that their clients settle the case instead of defending it for two years. The lawyers smelled the money. ??? Did MGM own the venue? If not, how are they responsible for that? Now you have gotten to why the settlement.
