The cost to repair the bumper WAY exceeds the cost of the gun....
....just to avoid the possible deductible I'd have shown the cops to file a report cuz' un-avoidable road hazard damage is covered on my policy without deductible. I wouldn't want to risk keeping the gun anyhoo.

As a bonus, the idiot that lost it might be caught and dealt with.

Another bonus? If it was loaded, the manufacturer has proof that it's product is drop-safe?;)

If we all still had REAL cars with bumpers made of steel and chrome that POS would still be on the highway...
Putthy cars of today are throw aways...:p:p:p

I'd like to know more about this! My guess is it was a hot gun used in a crime that some dumb arse thought he could get rid of by throwing it over an over pass or something.

I was thinking the same thing, someone tossed it. Would be interesting to hear what they find out about where it was last legally owned and what happened to it. Also makes me wonder if someone set it on the roof, or trunk and took off and it fell up there on the freeway? People are forever leaving their gun in the can and such. Wonder if the owner is missing a gun and either is too embarrassed to admit he left it sitting on his car, or really does not know what happened to it. :)
