Frankly, I don't think any politicians should get paid for that job. If they had to live the same lives as their constituents, instead of making their living off of our taxes, we may see policy changes that actually help.

That would only work if we went back to legislators traveling on horseback to do a two-week session, then going back home to their biz/livelyhood. Full time sleazemaking deserves a salary.

Because OFF submitted comments on the "proposed" ballot titles for both these measures, we are qualified to challenge the "certified ballot titles."

Today we submitted our legal challenges to the "certified" ballot titles for both measures. In both cases, the "titles," "summaries" and "results of yes and no votes" do not come close to letting Oregon voters know how dangerous, extreme and misleading these ballot measures are.

This strategy has worked in the past, but my personal fear is the Borg might have finally adapted their shields.

It's not about guns or crime, it's about making EVERYBODY guilty of SOMETHING so that as soon as you become inconvenient to them, or simply part of a Disfavored Group, they have a pretext to remove you from society at will and ship you off to the gulag without inciting a Peasant Uprising.
