How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood in the rain?
Regarding Californians - The boss at my last job was a displaced Californian. Nice guy but Californian through and through. He had his big house by the water in the Bay Area with his $300k boat docked out his back door. All the time he was in Oregon he complained constantly - the rain, the people, the roads, the drivers, the rain, etc.. Mostly he complained about the rain.

More power to you. Speaking of power, did yours come back on line?Funny.

And why bother saying "the power is out here" when you won't say where "here" is, O lala lad.
Rain = Mushrooms
First, great posts !!!
Second, No one mentioned, "the Chair is against the Wall" ....
Third, and most important: "you can tell a Californian" but you can't tell them Much.
Now, for serious stuff, Taku: I have, for Six continuous years, light my house by 12 VDC LED Lights, got one on right now, as a night light. Much better, that Kerosene Lamps, though not with ambiance, if that matters...
Go to Batteries&Lights or whatever the names changed to... Or Orange Box... Get a sealed Lead Acid Battery, and talk to a lighting specialist, about their LED 12v bulbs. I use one on my Band Saw, as a mini Spot Lamp, equivalent to a 100 watt light, with no heat, and just 7" away from the cut!!!! Nice!
Same bulb is all through my 27 foot RV, as reading lights,... Then, there is what I am using for my "night light": it comes from the boating/marine section of wal-marts, has Six LED's... I can leave it ON, 24/7 connected to an 18Amphour SLA, for Three Weeks, before it sort of is dimmer... Not real noticeable Dim, just dimmer...
Hope that helps, and that last one: it is weather proof, so when it Really gets wet, in your house (I want to live, under the sea, ... Beatles...) you can still see!
philip, its really time to sleep now,
G'Night from the bottom of the BoonDocks, with a snorkel to breathe in my sleep....

Why LEDs?
Isn't that a greenies expense putting on us?
Ae they much cheaper to run than these high energy?
And more light?
