My Idea of price gouging is when someone place's an ad for 1 amount and when there's intrest they rasie the price I think that's kinda crappy.

I put up an ad to sell some LR308 pmags 2 months ago and they garnered little interest until a couple weeks ago. Another forum member pm'd me about them and I did not raise the price, however I decided to keep them because I bought a 308 stripped lower off of a friend.

My reasoning for honoring my word: anything I write or say falls upon my credibility and integrity, it is one thing I refuse to compromise on since it is the only thing I have. As an under-grad I was absent from a 50 minute in-class exam (checking out gradschools) and the professor gave me the exam as a take home. I took 50 minutes and not a second more, got a B on it and I was happy, they guy in the mirror was happy too.

People can sell anything they have, any way they wish. I may not like it, but it is not my place to pass judgement upon them. I may think they suck and I want to club them, but it is a "free market" and people will charge what they want. Personally, I like being able to sleep at night.

If you are willing to pay 2 to 3 times the price for guns and ammo that was paid less than 30 days ago, you are a moron, and shouldn't have the gun in the first place.

But since it's not gouging, 49er fans, I have a Colin Kaepernick rookie card. Only 325,000.

One thing is certain everyone has a right to their opinion...Let's not forget we all need to support each other in these frustrating times.
If we want to squabble over terminology then how can we unite over our current problem, don't attack each others character, we all bring something to the table.
I respect the OP's opinion, I respect posters rebuttals, don't make it personal.....the "man" wants us to eat each other.

And we collectively are for a few dollars.

I tend not to do business with people who don't understand business nor economics. These people are generally involved in no-win situations.

Comparing gas to ammo is extremely ridiculous. If you don't like the ammo prices, you build your own. Good luck making your own gas. Or good luck buying gas from outside of the monopoly out there. At least with ammo you have lots of choices... Shoot or not shoot. Buy from X or buy from Y. Stock up or don't. Build vs. buy... With gasoline, you tend to have much fewer choices.. Clearly not the same.

The only one of us to show any character here is you my friend.

It was in fact you who compared guns and ammo to gasoline. Further to which, the way people bought them up low and started selling them high you'd think they were a commodity. I don't know anyone who is able to produce their own AR parts either or forging their own brass casings. In gouging people on gun and ammo prices, you're no better than the "man" you so ardently complain about.

Now this being more accurately true , since shelves are emptying as fast as they fill up at higher prices.
Are you saying that there are more irresponsible gun owners then responsible ones buying ammo and gun ?

I am pro 2nd, almost sounded like you were trying to convince the left the right is full of noobs with guns?

( sorry man had to pick on ya after I read It I said hmmmm what did he just say in a public forum lol )

I think he was appealing to their ability to make responsible decisions. Kind of like shoot now ask later. But I maybe wrong, that was just my interpretation.

Absolutely, sort of............. We have people seeing a chance to make some big bucks (read as irresponsible gun owners), selling to people who are buying simply because it may be too late to buy in the next few weeks. Many of those are first time gunowners (read as noobs). And as we should all know by now, from national news reports, plenty of knuckle heads are showing up at gun shows who have no clue how to handle their newly purchased guns (and in at least one case, one for sale) and shooting themselves, and other people in the process.

The dude that sold me the $750 Vanilla Ice tickets said it wasn't scalping, he said the casino might ban him from appearing. I can't wait! I'm gonna go get in line. It'll be two birds with one stone if I can pick up that FiveSeven on the way down.

So in your opinion, a moron is somebody who is buying anything gun related today as our politicians threaten the entire 2nd amendment? If a ban is passed, I'm assuming you'll kindly sell your stuff for what you paid for it? I mean after all, you wouldn't want to charge somebody what your replacement cost would be.

When the ban doesn't pass, many people are going to see they have more guns than money to pay their bills and taxes; and the few who believed the ban wouldn't pass will be able to buy guns on the cheap.:s0155:
But if the ban does pass, those who held out are screwed.

A few flaws there Eddy... First, over 47% of homes don't pay Taxes. So the odds are in my favor that the tax part of your argument won't stand up. Second, you are putting an awful lot of faith in your Congress. The President and Senate will clearly be able to pass a wide sweeping AWB. From high cap mags to the scary black rifles, they have the votes. The question is what will happen in the house. The house has quite a bit of chaos and I can see them caving on certain areas. For example, many feel the 10 round maximum per mag is a GREAT idea. So that very well could pass.

When the AWB is passed
When? More like *IF* an AWB is passed.

Nobody here has made a decent argument how an AWB is going to make it past the GOP's 33 seat majority in the House of Representatives.

McConnell already said he's going to filibuster the bill in the Senate, so it might not even make it to the House.

that 47% meme has been debunked ad naseum

I think they charge like $82 for an aspirin in the hospital. I think they charge $20,000 if you need a morphine drip and that crap grows on trees. just saying. knock on wood

This thread is unstoppable. :s0114:

I'm just gouging everyone's forum timeline?

Look... The reason I made this initial post is that I kept seeing people commenting or whining or complaining about prices being paid for products or at least prices being sought for various products. I think that we all have different perspectives on what gouging is and also have various perspectives on why its neither a problem or is a problem. At the end of the day, those whom support the second amendment should stick together.

Folks who waited until the last six weeks to get into ownership entered the game pretty darn late and are certainly feeling it in their wallets. This new demand has certainly had a huge impact on everyone. I'm guessing the demand post election would have strained some of the supply, but accompany that demand with this new demand and you have the perfect storm...

Personally I'm hoping that things will begin to become more stable, especially on the ammo side...

I haven't gone out and bought one box of ammo or a gun since the gouging started. I've got all the ammo and guns I need for now but it would have been cool if 9mm ammo didn't double in price in just 2 mo. For all the rich dumb asses willing to pay $400 for 1000 rnds of 9mm S&B SHAME ON YOU!!

It seems that most of the craziest prices and paying them are coming from those in Washington. Could it have anything to do with legalizing dope there? Just curious.

No I really don't think so. Weed uses didn't increase at all since 3 months ago. It just became legal... Plus those peaple spend all their cash on weed. they can't afford ammo now.
