You all better read your home owners policy. Most have a very low limit of coverage for firearms. $500. on most policies. You need to add a rider to increase the limit or buy alternative insurance to cover them.
 
If you look at the document he posted from Erie Insurance, it is not a homeowners insurance policy. Ultraflex is a business coverage policy. The Facebook post says 'the guy who repairs my cars has had his insurance dropped. ..because of insurance company found out he has a pistol permit' which doesn't make much sense, unless we are talking about business insurance where he failed to disclose something.

There is a statement by Erie on another site re this post which claims they do offer firearm insurance, but for business insurance you have to disclose if firearms are kept on the premises.

Most businesses that deal with firearms have special insurance policies. The NRA offers specialized insurance for ranges for example.

That's not to say that Erie should have cancelled the insurance, but I'd like to hear the whole story beyond a Facebook post.
