Saw David Allen Coe at the Roseland a few years ago. Demographic of the audience contained all the segments that he writes about. (Bikers,White trash, Hippies, Cowboys, Ethnic Brethren, etc.) '

Because those are all his fans..

Needless to say, 6 fights broke out in the standing crowd at stagefront. It was Glorious!

I've pondered this question. Always come up with the same answer too.
I don't care.
Ditto this.

I guess under some circumstances if I was planning on going shooting something basic like 9mm, and was out of reloads and it was super cheap I might buy a box or two to get through the day but under normal circumstances I reload everything.

RE : Post #91
Reloading for 9mm

Don't get me WRONG. I'm not giving up on the entire concept of handloading ammo.

IDK about that one.

I realize this is an old post but thought I'd chime in just the same, I've been loading off and on for a few decades now and have a pretty good stash of supplies but with everything that's going on in the world today I'm not selling off any more than I already have. I won't be giving up on the hobby either just because I like the idea of being able to produce ammo when there is nothing on the shelf again like during covid. My biggest complaint as of now is the presses I've been using for years are starting to get on my nerves. I'm about ready to switch to something blue over the Red company I was raised on.

Doesn't seem like it is going to be better as time goes on . Sure won't be as it once was . Hey that sounds like the start of a country song . :)
It was actually getting better for a while now as supplies were beginning to reapear and I've been seeing a lot of primers and powder available at many Bi-mart's. I make a trip to Eugene at least once a month to see family and I hit every Bi-mart between McMinnville to Veneta along the way checking to see whats available. When I see something thats been hard to find I usually purchase it and offer it up on here to someone that may be looking for it. Not trying to gouge but I add a few bucks to the price to account for fuel.

Honestly, I don't bother looking anymore. They're truly ruined it for me.
The problem with being an enthusiast in an activity controlled by gougers is that they suck away the enthusiasm. I can only speak for myself, but companies like Olin and Vista have killed this goose that used to lay golden eggs for them. Shooting is not my only interest and more of my time is now spent on other activities.
Like most greedy people, in the long run Olin and Vista only managed to screw themselves.

So are the manufacturers 'seeing' less interest in reloading, possibly fewer people getting into it and hoping the 'long term' reloaders will make up the difference ? OR are they falling to political pressure and raising prices INTENTIONALLY to reduce numbers of reloaders, yet still 'banking' on the long term reloaders to carry them?

OR have they 'selfishly' raised prices due to the scalping, fear and paranoia they have seen and believe reloaders will pay whatever they have to?

If so they have possibly made a mistake as I read and heard of many who have reduced their reloading due to the prices, and will probably never reload or shoot at the levels they did in the past.

I guess any of those are possible , but I believe that most of the cause is that we have shipped so much of our national stockpile of munitions to Ukraine and now also possibly to Israel also and munitions companies are struggling to make up the difference. I would imagine that US military is going to receive munition supplies before they are sold to the public. There is also the fact that Bidenomics is still causing prices to be higher than they were pre-pandemic. I am still seeing primers at Bi-Mart for as low as $75 per brick, you may say that that is $25 dollars more than pre pandemic prices but inflation is still factored in and $75 is considerably better than the $110 dollar price tags we were seeing during the pandemic when we were even able to find them. You cannot expect to see pre-pandemic prices for powder and primers when all other goods have a 7% inflation rate attached.

I'm making another trip down to Cresswell this weekend and hitting all the Bi-Marts along the way. If I find any hard to get consumables along the way I'll pick them up to post on here for all my NWFA brothers in the Metro area

I am guessing there are not many young people getting into reloading because they don't have the patience. Their world is often full of go go go. Many of them can't even watch videos that last more than a few seconds. My wife does the scrolly video thing and it drives me nuts.

My belief is that many young people that you're referring to don't even own or shoot firearms 😂 and some of them that do worry me to death because they've never taken a firearms course. I remember a few years back at another company I worked for the owners son whom was a big timer gamer started buying handguns cause he thought it was cool. I remember being told that he and his brothers were messing around with a Beretta and pointing it at one another and then one of them racked the slide and a live cartridge was ejected from the chamber. I think it was an eye opening experience for the both of them but they were both in their 30's . One of them could have easily been killed in that experience

I'm curious, if other BiMart's have several pounds of "Reloader16" still on the shelf at $76.99/LB? Our BiMart here in NE potland still have the same 6#s they had for 6 months or so.
