I've pondered this question. Always come up with the same answer too. What can I reload it for?
Ditto this.I've pondered this question. Always come up with the same answer too.
I don't care.
And while doing so remember who your fishing buddy is, we'll share a boat eventually. You should all give it up and I will help repatriate your primers and powder. I would do this out of the goodness of my heart and for the kids you know!![]()
NO. He who dies with the most toys, is dead.![]()
It was actually getting better for a while now as supplies were beginning to reapear and I've been seeing a lot of primers and powder available at many Bi-mart's. I make a trip to Eugene at least once a month to see family and I hit every Bi-mart between McMinnville to Veneta along the way checking to see whats available. When I see something thats been hard to find I usually purchase it and offer it up on here to someone that may be looking for it. Not trying to gouge but I add a few bucks to the price to account for fuel.Doesn't seem like it is going to be better as time goes on . Sure won't be as it once was . Hey that sounds like the start of a country song .![]()
So are the manufacturers 'seeing' less interest in reloading, possibly fewer people getting into it and hoping the 'long term' reloaders will make up the difference ? OR are they falling to political pressure and raising prices INTENTIONALLY to reduce numbers of reloaders, yet still 'banking' on the long term reloaders to carry them? The problem with being an enthusiast in an activity controlled by gougers is that they suck away the enthusiasm.
I guess any of those are possible , but I believe that most of the cause is that we have shipped so much of our national stockpile of munitions to Ukraine and now also possibly to Israel also and munitions companies are struggling to make up the difference. I would imagine that US military is going to receive munition supplies before they are sold to the public. There is also the fact that Bidenomics is still causing prices to be higher than they were pre-pandemic. I am still seeing primers at Bi-Mart for as low as $75 per brick, you may say that that is $25 dollars more than pre pandemic prices but inflation is still factored in and $75 is considerably better than the $110 dollar price tags we were seeing during the pandemic when we were even able to find them. You cannot expect to see pre-pandemic prices for powder and primers when all other goods have a 7% inflation rate attached. So are the manufacturers 'seeing' less interest in reloading, possibly fewer people getting into it and hoping the 'long term' reloaders will make up the difference ? OR have they 'selfishly' raised prices due to the scalping, fear and paranoia they have seen and believe reloaders will pay whatever they have to?
If so they have possibly made a mistake as I read and heard of many who have reduced their reloading due to the prices, and will probably never reload or shoot at the levels they did in the past.
My belief is that many young people that you're referring to don't even own or shoot firearmsI am guessing there are not many young people getting into reloading because they don't have the patience. Their world is often full of go go go. Many of them can't even watch videos that last more than a few seconds. My wife does the scrolly video thing and it drives me nuts.
I'm curious, if other BiMart's have several pounds of "Reloader16" still on the shelf at $76.99/LB? Our BiMart here in NE potland still have the same 6#s they had for 6 months or so.I'm making another trip down to Cresswell this weekend and hitting all the Bi-Marts along the way. If I find any hard to get consumables along the way I'll pick them up to post on here for all my NWFA brothers in the Metro area
