While I find the whole idea of this unconstitutional blocking the release of already available information ludicrous, I do think it's beneficial: It puts this information in more peoples hands. I know it did for me and I'm sure others are following suit, as it get more and more public attention. Years ago, when the govt first tried to block Defense Distributed from releasing the files, I downloaded every the files I could, even though I had no way to use them. I did it just because they didn't want me to have it, even though I had no way to use it.
I don't have a 3D printer and most likely never will, so I'll probably never use the downloaded files (but will download all new info for safe keeping). Being of an older hands on generation and not being a computer guy, I think this kind of material will suit me better:

And honestly, if the government, the media and Hollywood had just kept their traps shut about this, most people, including many gun owners, probably wouldn't even know about it. But thanks to them, now EVERYONE knows. Best way to stop something you don't like? Apparently that's to put it on a pedestal, shine a spotlight on it, then tell everyone they can't have it. Silly little bastidges don't understand simple human nature, do they?
