Inflation stats should reflect the basics of the real cost of sustaining life, not the fakey stuff used to make the politicians look "good" like they are really doing something of worth. The "basket of goods" has been changed many times by whomever is in the Whitehouse. That trick is not just used by anyone party! How anyone can 'pronounce' lower inflation when a can of beans is jacked up from $1 to $ 1.50 is laughable!
From one of my favorite books (1984):

"It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday […] it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it. [...] The eyeless creature at the other table swallowed it fanatically, passionately, with a furious desire to track down, denounce, and vaporize anyone who should suggest that last week the ration had been thirty grams. Syme, too - in some more double complex way, involving doublethink - Syme, swallowed it. Was he, then, alone in the possession of a memory?"

The price of a can of beans has been reduced to $1.50. Not increased. Comrade.

I purchased a one pound bottle of CFE Black at bimart in February for $38. Yesterday they had a few for the first time since then for $41

Plus 8% in two months

Yet the main stream media claims we a doing well🤷

Not just well, but the best times ever!!!! They know to make a lie as grand and obnoxious as possible because the weak minded process that as "well, it must be true."

My guess is the purpose isn't so much about revenue. Gov't prints money for itself at will out of thin air, then punishes citizens with planned inflation.

It is about control. That tag on your windshield reporting your whereabouts just in case the hundreds of cameras somehow missed where you are at any given time. Better yet, tie it to your digital ID and when you are not being a compliant drone, say you refuse med experiments, your travel rights are revoked.

The social planners play chess, not checkers.

Grocery shop today; Waremart (Winco ) have lowered prices on many things except those Peelz clementine oranges that my daughter just loves. Most fruits & vegetables in produce section are still priced higher compared to 6 months ago. Eggs and milk are a little better but not by much. Some frozen foods have gone down in prices compared to a couple weeks ago. Gas prices went down a teeny tiny bit, but not significantly enough. It is an election year

I expect the Portland 82nd ave Winco to shut down before too long, just like Walmart did across the street due to theft.
I think I heard they did away with the self check-out at that one? That would be a PITA if that Winco closes. I seldom go there, we go to the 122nd and San Rafael store. If the other closes all the dregs will transfer, I'm sure. :(
