...and so far I don't recall anyone offering up a reasonable explanation on why he would have done it on purpose.
His side was winning and he had nothing to gain from delaying the voting...
My explanation: He pulled it so it would be blamed on someone from the other side. He got caught, so can't do that now.

Just an "accident", trying to "open a locked door"... by pulling a fire alarm. Ooopsie doodles.

Good News/Bad News

The good news - Rep Michael Johnson (R-LA) was voted in as Speaker of the House, so one obstacle down for when it comes time to pass a spending bill before the stop-gap bill expires in a couple weeks, thus adverting a possible shut -down and it's ramifications on background checks. Bonus - he is also a vocal gun rights supporter. As far as the spending bill to come, I would expect quite the battle between the leftists and conservatives, so a shut-down could still be a possibility.

Now the bad news, at least for our Jamaal Bowman fan club. Rep Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) has agreed to plea guilty today for pulling the fire alarm. He still claims it was inadvertent and was not done to stall the proceedings that day. Anyone who believes that would essentially be calling Jamaal Bowman an idiot for not understanding what this device is for (actual pull station in question):.

Makes perfect sense:
He probably never even seen a fire alarm pull station or knew what it was, despite being a high school principal for years, and working in government buildings his entire adult life.
Okie dokie then...

Don't forget the video that was released of him pulling down the warning signs. The only people who "believe" this was an accident are the people with a vested interest in propagating the lie and those that ignorantly listen to them.
