Well I suppose there was that.
If you think about it, the genes that survived all of that stuff are the genes that make up the modern man. Every time I see someone floundering, I tell them to harness that survival instinct and do their ancestors proud!

Especially when you reach that point in life where you just can't eat like you used to.
Reminds me of a line from a TV show a while back, Last Man Standing, I think. The two guys are discussing superheros and super powers, and Mike asks Ed, his father-in-law, what his super powers would be if he were a superhero. Old guy answer: "The ability to digest anything I wanted to eat."

True.
I grew into a seafood allergy. By my 20s I was basically completely allergic to anything that lived in water.
Sucks hugely as I freaking love seafood and then we moved to Oregon!
Ive also developed diverticulitis apparently, which has kicked my arse more than a handful of times more recently.
I stay fit and eat healthy, shocker considering this thread (also married a RD) and I'm thankful that I've been in good health!
