» Women Mistakenly Shot at in Christopher Dorner Manhunt to Get $4.2M Alex Jones' Infowars: There's a war on for your mind!

"The city of Los Angeles will pay $4.2 million to the two women injured when police mistakenly opened fire on their truck during the manhunt for Christopher Dorner, a disgruntled ex-LAPD police officer who killed four people in a rampage that kept Southern California on heightened alert for days.

LA City Attorney Carmen Trutanich confirmed Tuesday to NBC4 that a deal has been reached with Margie Carranza and her mother, Emma Hernandez.

"The deal is relatively a very simple, very clean deal. It's a win-win for both parties," Trutanich said. "It closes this chapter in Los Angeles and LAPD history on all issues."..."

It closes this chapter in Los Angeles and LAPD history on all issues? :s0112: We are sure something else will happen again, you guys have a track record of it.

Glad the delivery ladies didn't die or take that ridiculous first offer from the LAPD!!!! Something like the LAPD would buy the ladies a new truck but the ladies would have to pay the taxes on it. Freaking insulting.

If only the LAPD had to actually pay. Good for the two ladies.

"The women injured when Los Angeles police opened fire on them during the manhunt for ex-cop Christopher Dorner have reached a $4.2-million settlement with the city, sources told The Times.

Los Angeles City Atty. Carmen Trutanich announced a settlement had been reached Tuesday afternoon. More details were expected at a 2 p.m. news conference.

Margie Carranza, 47, and her mother, Emma Hernandez, 71, were delivering newspapers in Torrance on Feb. 7 when LAPD officers shot repeatedly at their blue Toyota Tacoma. Hernandez was shot twice in the back, and Carranza was injured by broken glass, an attorney for the women said.

The officers were protecting the home of a high-ranking LAPD official named in a threatening manifesto authorities said was written by Dorner, and they believed that the official could have been a potential target. Dorner at the time had already killed the daughter of an LAPD captain, her fiance -- a USC police officer -- and a Riverside police officer, officials said.

Dorner was believed to be driving a gray Nissan Titan, and there was an alert preceding the shooting that said a truck matching Dorner's was in the area.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck called the shooting "a tragic misinterpretation" by officers working under "incredible tension" hours after Dorner allegedly shot police officers. Beck promised to provide a truck from a donor regardless of potential litigation by the women.

Last month, the women received a $40,000 check from the city to cover the loss of the truck.

When announcing the check had been delivered, Trutanich said the settlement was "the legal and morally right thing to do both for the individuals involved and the taxpayers of this city."..."

My question is what, if anything, has been done to the officers who actually opened fire and pumped 103 rounds into an unidentified target that turned out to be 2 innocent civilians? How is the LAPD going to try to prevent this from happening in the future? (Remedial vehicle identification? Racial/Gender sensitivity training to discern the differences between two hispanic females and one 6' plus 300 lb african american male former police officer?, Remedial hunter safety, IDENTIFY your target before firing, know your backstop? Remedial marksmanship training so that more than 2 out of 103 rounds fired actually strike the intended target, even if it is the wrong one?) Why is the media completely silent on this outrageous act and so willing to allow the LAPD coverup of their incompetence and corruption. All it does is lend credence to what Doerner had been complaining about.
No Plans to visit California again. Ever.

LAPD shooting in ex-cop manhunt violated policy

"A civilian oversight board has determined that eight Los Angeles police officers violated department policy when they mistakenly opened fire on two women during the manhunt for rogue ex-cop Christopher Dorner."

"The Police Commission's decision announced Tuesday leaves the question of disciplinary measures to Police Chief Charlie Beck."

Oh'great, don't hold your breath for any real discipline.

The union is strong in this one, Luke.

It took a civilian oversight board this long to determine that those officers violated department policy when they opened fire on two women delivering newspapers with absolutely no connection nor any similarity to the person being sought? Clearly a board appointed by Democrats. I wonder how long it will take before they announce the discipline for the officers involved. Probably will announce the discipline as soon as the youngest officer involved retires from the force. And what about criminal charges, such as assault with a deadly weapon? Or are these cops such bad shots that their firearms are not considered deadly? This entire case has set law enforcement back 100 years as now a majority of citizens are as afraid of the cops as they are of the criminals without badges.

Completely expected. No surprise at all.

Whether it is Dorner or Gaddafi, murder/executions are A-OK if performed by the corporate government. If you get in the line of fire out grocery shopping that is your tough luck.
