For everything I love about Washington and the PNW, it's things like this that make more sure every day that I'm not retiring here. I don't want to get settled down and watch everything slowly erode. Once of these days one of these silly bills will pass.

Oh people will just bend over and take it so what does it matter anyway? Won't take long for the vast majority of the people that get angry at this bill to become incredulous at the mention of non compliance.

That's what I gather!
It sure wasn't that way years back when I visited there and did forest fighting duties with the Forest Service several different times.

Looks like lots of states have the libitard challenge going on nowadays. I never would have expected that with Washington being so famous for hunting at one time. It just goes to show ya we'd better ALL stay on our toes when it comes to gun legislation.

well as you may not know, here on the west coast they're no longer Democrats. They have morphed into these progressive-liberal-socialist-communists aliens from Kalifornia.
So much so that they should be routed out to a 3rd party.:eek::eek:

I found the details on the mentioned site: With more power, Washington Democrats eye gun laws.

Macri's Restoration of Local Authority is just one of several gun control measures expected to come up in the 60 days session that starts Jan. 8. Other measures include a bill that would strengthen rules for buying firearms such as the AR-15, and requiring an annual permit to own rifles.

Sweet, merciful crap.

Im still waiting for the last straw to fall and gun owners to fight back in a violent way against these leftist crazies.. They keep pushing for a 2nd civil war and they most likely will get one. I hope Im already gone from this earth but I doubt it the way they keep pushing.

Wouldn't a requirement of a permit to purchase a firearm be an infringement on the second amendment? Ill tell you where you can shove that permit, stuff like this just screams the state wanting control over who can purchase firearms while we already have the right as written in our constitution.

I'll tell ya, the more I hear you guys talk about what's going on in Washington State, the more I'm glad I'm here in VT.

The libitards are getting a bit over the top here lately too, but so far we've been able to keep there nonsense at bay.

I Hope it remains that way,,,,,,
Yet I'm always amazed that you have Constitutional carry in VT. How do you pull that off with all of the lefties out there? (...and more power to ya!!)

I honestly don't think it'll happen. It is an incremental infringement, and most people won't really realize it. It's slow enough that most won't see the big picture until it's too late. Slowly eroding freedoms over time doesn't make it look like the ultimate goal of outright bans on firearms. Phased in magazine capacity restrictions, special permits, assault weapons bans, etc. will have majority support and not until a few decades pass will it actually appear to be what most of us suspect it is.

This is sort of the way it's been going since the 1800's on a federal level. Politicians have slowly hoodwinked & screwed the American people with all their lies, promises and deception, from both side of the isle.
States are just as bad if not worse, just look at what Kalifornication has done to the PNW!!!
Many seem to think that they do not have a choice when voting and choose the lesser of two evils or just crawl in a hole & don't vote.

If us older folks don't teach the younger generations what we have had, what we have lost and what we should stand for then it is over and we will just be roiling in our graves when the constitution folds & communism takes over. God help our children and grandchildren.

100% right. Just look at how things have changed over the last 10 years. Sure we all whine and bubblegum but nobody ever really does anything.

Something will happen but it will not be until the 2nd is already gone. The purpose of eliminating the 2nd is to pave the road for more sweeping changes. You cannot force an armed population to go along with policy they disagree with. If they are disarmed however you can implement whatever the Hell you want despite the mass protests.

Then when everyone is finally up in arms its going to be metaphorical arms instead of literal because the bubbleguming idiots in cities like Seattle and Portland voted to take away the tools we had to prevent Tyranny.

It amazes me all the idiots supporting these socialist ideas in my generation and how they want a revolution and to fight against the police while at the same time voting to ban our guns.

The 2nd in my opinion is the most important right our nation has because it guarantees the rest of them.

I don't think it needs to come to that. People simply need to boldly state they will not comply.
I will not comply with laws that infringe on my constitutional rights period. Bill 941 does not apply to me or any of my close friends or family.
I don't think we need to storm the castles. But I do wish people would give up the notion that compliance will appease.
No rally's, no letters to senators. Simply as many people openly defying these stupid laws.
Along with as much education about why we have the rights we have and what this country would look like if we never did as we can push to counter the day to day bs in popular culture.

Where have you been the last 20+ years? There has been a steady influx of Kalifornians and they have fled the communistic state that they created & are doing the exact same thing up here!!!

I'll likely not live here when the wife retires in 5 years.

Wait. Wouldn't they need some sort of list or database to enforce that? Hmmm.

I don't track WA state politics anymore, but do they have the power to get this passed?

Why rifles and not handguns?

Do they think they have enough guns in the DB to enforce it after such a short period of time? Or are they just going for the 20% of gun owners who own 80% of guns who continued to buy guns thinking that registration/licensing/et. al. was not coming anytime soon - if at all?

It seems to me that maybe they are playing their hand a little early?
