I run cci sub sonic hollow points in my suppressed 10 22. They are consistent and very deadly
I have one 10/22 set up for "low velocity" .22 ammo, with a 1:9 barrel, but only use it for target with 60 gn bullets
on 10/22, my experience is that I have to respring it for sub sonic, I use Tony Kidd's springs
with stock Ruger springs, MY 10/22s don't cycle reliably with sub sonic ammo

question, with a suppressor, do you find you have to respring for sub sonic ammo?
I know without a suppressor I have to

My experiences with Armscor .22 Ammo hasn't been the greatest.
In general for my rifles...it worked fine for plinking and casual shooting...not so well for hunting.
As in not penetrating or expanding as advertised.

For me I have found that :
CCI Small game bullet ammo
CCI Mint Mag Hollow points
CCI Subsonic .22LR 40 grain hollow point ...thanks Tlock :D
Winchester .22LR 40 grain Hollow point
Winchester .22LR 36 grain Hollow point
All work well for small game

And Federal once had a 38 grain Hollow point .22LR ...that worked well...haven't seen 'em in long while however.

have five 50 rnd boxes of old CCI mini mag HP from 10 years ago
loaded those in my 10/22 mags this afternoon just for raccoons
also resprung two 10/22 with Tony Kidd heavy springs
I found a mix of CCI and Armscor in my 10/22 mags - this may account for my mixed results
will let you know

This reminds me of the song Sky Pilot......getting ready for battle.
Could be a rough night....make sure that they didn't turn the Claymores around and the trip flares are all good.
Might want to have a word with the man upstairs if you are so inclined.

Good luck !

your old enough to remember the Vietnam era song "SKY PILOT"?
most don't even know what that term means
I first heard it from my father in the '50s
a Sky Pilot would bless their B52s every Sunday

waiting for raccoons on a Sunday evening
magazine full of CCI Mini Mags in a Tony Kidd 10/22
glass full of Pinot Grigio
all is well on the North Fork of the Lewis River

Lotta us know what a sky pilot is/was. Lotta us remember the song, too...

Is it that time?
Huh?
For a music break.

Aloha, Mark

PS.....How does this relate to the subject?

Well, since we were speaking of DEATH.

one came up on the porch tonight 15 min ago
my son shot it with a paintball gun in the chest
10 min later, it's back with a big yellow stain on it's chest
10/22 with mini mags - one in the chest - not coming back this time

I woulda yelled "yer yella!" at it for 5 minutes before I lunged it.

heard the geese screaming and they gathered in a defensive circle around the babies
ran out with the 10/22, only to find our local Blue Heron had landed in their pool
a Heron this large can eat baby geese, but I'm not shooting a Blue Heron, in flight they look like a teradactyl

I was once walking down to our woods on a foggy morning
saw the fog swirling in front of me and out of the fog came this Blue Heron, flying just above my head level
as it flew past, it turned it's head and just looked at me
I thought I had morphed to Jurassic Park

Could that be a raccoon identifying as a Blue Heron?

They're like grouchy old men. When were on vaca at Siltcoos lake and fish early, or a walk on the dock after dinner. There's always a Heron down there flying of, growling and cursing, just like an old man.

They walk the beach in front of the house picking small fish out of the river and when spooked, they fly off and screech like a banshee. It is like something out of a damn horror flick, or maybe it is like a Teradactyl? At any rate, it scares the crap out of me every time. They are pretty cool birds though. Neat to watch them slowly work along and snatch those little fish out of the water.
