The city commissioners comments were surprising he would make some admissions and pretty much as every rational person has been saying for years.... their policies created the problems and... "we're now paying the piper for that".

Mentioning briefly, but specifically, being too tolerant about the street camping issues, early releases, property crime and drug felonies.

It just goes to prove, "you are your own first responder".

You need to keep up. That method was greatly modernized in the later 1800's... early 1900's... and patented as the 3S (Shoot, Shovel, Shut-up) rule.

During the LA riots about 30 years ago, my wife's family encountered an attempted home invasion while she and her brothers were home with their mom. When they called police, they were told there's nothing we can do, if you have a gun, protect yourself. That's where we are now, but in an overall semi-permanent state of existence. In Clark County, even if a Deputy is available, they likely will not dispatch as the officer can be held liable for the call going sideways, which it likely will.

Life or death, yes but all this other crime, call your insurance company or someone who cares.

You're just getting this now? What bliss to live out of the population centers in the formerly great Northwest! We haven't been able to get 911on a Wednesday at 1:30pm, for instance, without getting put on hold, for several years now. And non-emergency, may as well "Park It!"
