Neither of those plans are particularly patriotic. The true American plan would be to first procure a quarter-horse or pacer, dreadlock feathers and bones into it's mane, and finger paint it with celestial and/or warlike themes in red, white, and blue; suns, half-moons, hand prints, spears - that sort of thing.

While one should certainly continue to drink whiskey, one should abandon all clothing except for a breech-cloth, leather belt, rifle of choice, load bearing equipment, tomahawk, and a scalping knife. No communications skill is necessary so long as one has a blood curdling war cry.

As the S continues to HTF, it would be advisable to cover your LBE in some sort of ad-hoc cuirass of a ribcage and boiled leather confabulation. Feathers are always popular as decoration.
