After reading that I think his being a vet is about as relevant as what car he drove that day or if he was wearing boxers or briefs

It's laughable that a mega store would proudly announce it's making itself a soft target.
Sure sure "free market" and all that jazz.. but this is akin to a home
(2 of my past clients for example) proudly putting up a sign on their property proclaiming their house is a gun free house.
Why? Just why?
It's insane to me to willfully broadcast that you have no means to stop those wishing to do harm to others and to add salt in the wound, do this intentionally to push CHL and pro 2A people away.. There is truly no reason for Costco to pull this stunt other than to virtue signal and even then.. why?.. it's a terrible idea as it only pushes people away who would otherwise attempt to stop said "mass event"

Just wait, there will be a "mass event" at a Costco and they will not realize the error of their ways. They'll act like it's all one big shock and then we can post this statement they came out with so they can see what they've done.. like a dogs nose in $hit.
It's like these loons all ate lead paint chips as children.

Take a stand, you don't really need five pounds of frozen shrimp.

Costco does not believe that it is necessary for firearms to be brought into its warehouse stores, except in the case of authorized law enforcement officers. For the protection of all our members and employees, we feel this is a reasonable and prudent precaution to ensure a pleasant shopping experience and safe workplace. Our policy is meant to protect our members and employees in all warehouses around the world. This is not a new policy and we do not customize the policy for each individual city/county/state/country where we do business.

Our primary goal at Costco Wholesale is to keep our members happy. If you believe that our policy restricting members from bringing firearms into our warehouse stores is either unfair or excessively burdensome, or you cannot agree to abide by this policy, or you are dissatisfied for any other reason, Costco will promptly refund your annual membership fee in full.
Why would anyone pay any attention to firearm restrictions outside of places like airports, courthouse etc.?

The greenwood mall shooting Fe is a classic example of why one should carry always.

I dropped my membership to Costco 2 weeks ago because as a single old man I don't use the store much. When the family was bigger it made sense to shop there. Nowdays I shop at Winco and I don't have to pay for a membership every year.

Bimart membership you pay once for a life membership yet Costco makes you pay every year. No thanks.
If you shop Costco one a month, the membership is like handing them five bucks every time you walk in.

FWIW, unless you're in a state where posted signage has the force of law, "against store policy" does not mean "illegal". If you break store policy they may choose to revoke your membership, but you won't face criminal charges unless you refuse to leave the property - then you're trespassing and can be charged with a crime. So, noncompliance may be an option for those who don't live in one of those states where signage has force of law, or are willing to sacrifice their membership.
