And we're uninterested in winning them away from that ideology?

Their ideology promotes things like common sense gun laws, and questions like, "Why does anyone need X?" You can't change it, you can only redirect it. A lot of them really think they know what's better for others.

No, we don't want that subversive type of group to masquerade as 2A supporters. People might believe it, and listen to their bunk that brings in more licensing, cripple mags, and continual infringement.

I find it interesting that you guys can go from screeching about tyranny, impending marshal law, and the total destruction of America and then your sited example is that you can't get 64 oz soda in NYC. Sure, I'm cherry picking to be a little funny but it just goes to show that you guys really aren't as crazy as you try to appear you just are really, really melodramatic. I find that comforting.

I find it interesting that you can't connect the dots.

You remind me of a frog I boiled slowly once.

Never knew there was one, but got a link of him (or anyone in this thread) defending the "liberal" platform?

I suspect the "liberal platform" is more like "whatever I don't agree with".

But I can hope.

I could handhold you, but I'm going to treat you like an adult. Read through this thread, and see his defense of them.
You can suspect what you'd like, but you'd be wrong. :)

Then don't promote or defend their platform. Otherwise you're still covered in their bs.

You are also a man that has been defending those with the position of using the force of the government's gun to take from me to give to others.
I'm fairly even-handed. The only reason I'm seen to be defending that side is that it's the side being attacked. I oppose extremism in any of its forms. If this were "www.northwestsocialism.com," and it was you who was being unreasonably trolled by militant hippies, they would accuse me of defending your side. :) In reality, I'm just trying to hold the middle.

Without us middle-holders, your gun rights would have been gone a long time ago. think about that one. :)

Damn you. Don't embolden them, they'll think they're right.
I respect arguing the middle. Well put.

Did I not say myself that the soda thing was a trivial example?

What else, pray tell, is NYC Mayor Bloomberg proposing to ban using every liberal buddy he can find or buy? That was my point. His nanny state impulses extend far beyond mere gun control.

And it isn't people who think like me who inflict that turd upon America.

It's people like you, who think having someone in power who knows FAR BETTER than they about what to do with not only their possessions, and their hard earned money, but with their very life choices themselves, is nothing to be concerned about lest one be viewed as paranoid and melodramatic by a know nothing liberal.

I could have just as easily invoked the coming Obamacare tax that is going to begin blindsiding his own stupid supporters in 2014. Tyranny by any other name, in this case "IRS Penalty."

you address only the easy part that nanny laws are annoying and neglect the reailty that people drink stupid hfcs soft drinks until literally their feet fall off and its bankrupting the nation.

i think its a bad fix to a stupid problem but framing it as tyranny feels stupid and melodramatic.

You seem to have more feelings than a gun grabber uses.

In NYC you can't now get a sugar free soft drink in ANY size you want either, because someone might use the "assault cup" to become a diabetic.

Do you even hear yourself?

It is none of your bubblegumming business what people choose to eat or drink so long as they don't physically harm or kill other people in the process.

So, one gal is going to die early from diabetes. The next fellow over contracts AIDS because he can't keep it zipped. The next one over should have never been born without his parents being genetically screened for ALS markers passed on to their offspring. The next over eats too many nitrates and will have an early heart attack.

Where do you or the people you vote for get off telling anyone what to do? What is the compulsion that drives you to "care" with the full force of the law, whether I decide to have a HFCS beverage or a cane sugar Coke from Mexico?

It's not your decision, it's mine. Just like the choice between a 5 round mag and a 30 round mag is mine, and not the state's.

I didnt vote for the soda rule, I live in Seattle. i'm providing context as to why its more complicated than 'because I want to'. I clearly said its a bad fix to a stupid problem.

people 'care' because fat poor people are bankrupting the country and there are no easy fixes

My larger point is if it is fat people today, who is in the crosshairs next?

And I'd argue that spending more than we haul in taxes is what's bankrupting the country. Medicine, in all of its forms, is only one-seventh of all economic activity.

Thanks. I was beginning to think I was the sole surviving Liberal AR-15 owner.
But is the 2nd amendment as most AR-15 owners understand it a priority when you vote, or other social justice issues? Would you vote against your financial benefit if you were in a public sector union for example to prevent the further erosion of our gun rights? Sometimes we must vote against self interest.

drew, thank you, I came into this thread tonight, to see what is knew, nothing.

Same old same old... But I mentioned in the thread You mentioned, that I am Done With him, whom I need not name, right?

In the Boondocks, you can be anyone you are... They know you by your walking the talk...
