Sounds like things are near the breaking point with poeple getting stabbed or shot everyday. I think they have the national guard still patrolling but they made them leave their long guns cuz peopel thought they were too scary.

Veteran stabbed on subway while saving woman says vigilantes will come out.

The other train rider's comments are as expected. "Where's the nypd?", where's the national guard? Isnt the government supposed to protect us?

No one thinks about taking responsibility for their own safety. Well maybe the guy who wrestled away the gun. That's a pretty badass move one has to admit.

Maybe they should have all New York tv stations Show all the death wish movies non-stop for 48 hours. That might get people thinking differently. ;)

Give me some Paul Kersey!!!!!!

Of course it becomes an anti-gun propaganda piece. If anything demonstrates the need for an armed and trained civilian populace, it's this. Cops are nowhere to be found, the aggressor is the only person who is armed, the good Samaritan has to grapple with the aggressor to wrestle the gun away, then finally shoots him to stop the threat. If the aggressor had not just been some jacked up punk, if he had intended on harming a large number of people, there would be a lot of dead commuters on that train.

From the "article":
Officers with their guns drawn flooded the car, witnesses said, and the shooter was arrested before he even stepped onto the platform, Kemper said.
Boasting about arresting the guy who stopped the threat... Nice.
MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber said the real victims of the incident were the other commuters who feared for their lives. "Get rid of the guns!" Lieber fumed. "When a gun's involved, we can't live with it."... "When something like this happens. When you bring a gun on the train and you start a fight, it's just not right. It's absolutely outrageous … They're just trying to go about their lives, so get rid of the guns!"
The usual "blame the guns" song and dance from those in high places
The shooting comes just over a week after Gov. Kathy Hochul announced she was sending hundreds of National Guard and state police into the subways to help with bag checks as a way to curb transit crime.

But no guardsmen were at the Hoyt–Schermerhorn station Thursday, sources said, leaving some locals puzzled.
Government: "We will protect you! We have the police and national guard to keep you safe! You don't need guns!"

Citizens: "Where the heck are they?!"

Government: "Well, dang, they weren't there in time to help (or at all). But don't worry, they'll protect you (next time), and you still definitely don't need guns!"
"I thought they were bringing in the National Guard and extra to stop these kinds of things from happening. If they can't stop it, who can?" a frustrated Zara Jones, 24, asked.
Uhhhh... You. If you value your life and your personal well-being, then take responsibility for your own safety and security, because nobody else is going to do it for you.

Jeez, when will New Yorkers wake up?!

Looks like all the details are out now. Robinson is the aggressor:
