And I want a glow in the dark translucent one .

FYI - CA put together some Galil clones called Golanis. They are hit and miss - I gather they used authentic parts but sometimes did not put them together correctly. There used to be a guy who would make them right for a fee, but I don't know if he still does that.

So - if you see a "Galil" for cheap, check whether it is imported/etc. by Century Arms.

FWIW - some "late" Norincos made just before the AWB - the "Hunters"/et. al. - were rushed to be able to import before they were banned, and they had some rough edges and some mags would not fit without taking the rough edges off.

Some Magpuls do not fit well and/or are hard to insert/swap.
The nice thing about plastic mags is that you can shave them.

The master molder ones are the only mags I consider complete garbage.

I dislike the sharp edges of tapco mag floorplates, and give them all to one of my buddies. He's got like 40 of them off me so far. The run fine , I just don't like them.

What about magazines for the AK? All metal? Polymer? Polymer and metal mixture?

Bulgarian Circle 10 waffle polymer are number one on my list. East European and ChiCom Mil surplus are a distant second. Russian Bakelites are awesome but I'm not going to pay stupid prices for them. I don't collect, I use and mags are disposable.

I have no use for any US made mags or AKs for that matter. Commie guns, commie mags, commie ammo.

I have some Magpul but I use them for going to the "range " and the rest are Combloc or Bulgarian

I got 1 or 2 of those waffles in 7.62
Heavy duty and solid for sure. But I'll run anything that locks in place and feeds.

I like Chinese Flat backs, pretty much any East Bloc metal as well as the Circle 10's.The all work fine in the Norinco's! Had some collector mags and sold them for a huge profit. The 3rd Gen PMags are pretty decent range mags also but are NOT combat mags. The lips can crack if you drop them on them .Its too bad they havent addressed that because they function flawlessly. As good as the Circle 10's but need the lips metal reinforced.

I should look around and see if I have any commie ammo left. Between the SKS and AKs I owned in the past I might still have a can of it somewhere . Being this old I can't believe what a treat it is to find stuff I forgot I had.

Let's see now, in the 90s it was CCP ammo until they got kicked out of trade. Then what? Wolf? Wasn't there some Albainian commie ammo on the market for a while?

What ammo are you guys running through your AKs when you go shoot?

They do, from the K-Var website...

Arsenal Circle 10 magazines are inarguably the finest AK magazines in the world-period. They are the ONLY magazine to pass 100% of the military drop tests, 100% of the time. Circle 10 magazines are made from the highest quality polymer, contain steel reinforcements front/back, steel feed lips, and a steel locking lug. Should you drop your loaded rifle or run into something, they will not break off and leave you with a possibly non-functioning gun. Circle 10 magazines feed and function perfectly all the time-every time.

Wolf , tula , red army standard, anything loose that I find.

Head stash is barnaul white box. Collector stuff (lol) is norinco green, silver, yellow, and black and white China sport boxes

I was looking through my stuff earlier today and found two short steel AK magazines. Now I have to look for ammo to figure out how many rounds they hold. I must have ammo i can find.:)

I used short mags at the range to bench rest, no monopod misses that way.

I usually use all steel for 7.62x39. 5.56 and 5.45 are polymer with steel reinforcement. The exception is the green beryl mags. Most militaries using the AK still use steel reinforced polymer mags and for good reason. The AK's magwell can chew up polymer. The feed lips also crack without the reinforcement usually (as evidenced by Bulgarian smoke mags). The exception seems to the beryl mags.

Keep in mind, 5.56 AK mags and AK74 mags ain't cheap.
