Compared to the others that have outright said they are seeking to take away legally purchased firearms?

And with a libertarian vote, we all know that wont count towards anything with the two party system.

Sadly with his waffling faults He's the only realistic choice.

"100% of previous Trump supporters will still support Trump in 2020 vs ANY Dem presented...."

Statistical editorial-ism is a interesting thing...

EHJ,

Please, define 'interesting thing'...thanks.

Disguised references (sarcasm) needs clarification.

My understanding is greater when meaning is clear...

Seems to me 65% of gun owners think this is checkers and not chess. Sad to think that so many offer a knee-jerk reaction without realizing the true consequences of their actions should they hold to them.

Haven't read the entire thread, but I will say this:

Gun owners who vote 3rd party or not at all, they all deserve to lick the boots of their democratic masters... PERIOD....

I don't agree with the "red flag" laws and how they work, but I sure as he!! will never, ever vote for a democrat or even worse a socialist...

God save the Republic!!!

What happened to the lesser of two evils. If you needed a ride out of the desert so you don't becomes buzzard food and two people you can't stand come along in separate cars and offer you a ride. Are you going to take ride from the one you depise a little less or perish?
Sadly, with the mentality of I won't vote for the lesser of two evils, they'd perish... Perhaps that's the best option, perish, clears out the weak making room for the stronger...

You know this possibly could have an effect on the national level, if true, but in OR and WA, I don't really think it matters all that much. The urban areas rule both OR & WA (especially in the national elections) and the socialists/democrats rule those areas. Even after stealing the nomination from Bernie and as how hated Clinton was, she still garnered over 50% of the vote in both states (granted barely over 50% in OR). The reality is that both states will vote for the socialist/democrat candidate no matter who it is. So, unless we can get everyone that doesn't vote socialist/democrat on our side, all gun owners to actually vote and all vote for Trump as a block, we know how this election will fare. Even then it would be too close to call. The odds are really high against us (probably 1,000,000 to 1) as even on this gun site, there are numerous gun enthusiasts who vehemently support the most vicious anti-gun candidates and proudly state that they will never ever vote for any Republican for any reason.

I don't agree with the "red flag" laws and how they work, but I sure as he!! will never, ever vote for a democrat or even worse a socialist...

In today's society there is no difference.

There are a lot of names on the ballot besides the person at the top of the ticket, and there are a dozen reasons not to vote for Trump that have nothing to do with guns.

It's not a zero sum game. Trump drove midterm turnout in 2018 to record highs (participation is great, right?) but nearly all the gains were realized by Democrats who flipped 40 House seats, 8 governor's mansions, and hundreds of state legislature seats. If you want to double down on that, more power to you. I'll check back to November 2020 to see how that worked out.

There are two fallacies behind the argument that "one must always vote for the 'lesser' of two evils" because the other candidate will be worse.

1st fallacy: The first fallacy is the assumption that one of two candidates can be identified as been less evil than the other. The persons making this argument selectively cherry pick statements made by candidates in front of certain audiences where the candidate panders to the crowd, and then ignore all conflicting statements made by the candidate to other crowds which have conflicting viewpoints.

2nd fallacy: The second fallacy is the recurring failure to admit that the so-called "lesser of two evils" has stabbed voters in the back. One candidate promises to stab voters right in the heart, and the other candidate promises to not stab voters in the heart. The so-called "lesser of two evils" candidates proceeds to stab voters in the back, and then we are told that the stab-in-the-back didn't really happen, and was totally necessary to avoid getting stabbed from the front in the heart.

I'm done holding my nose and voting for candidates I "don't like less." If that's the best our country can produce to represent us, good luck with that and enjoy the world you made...
So you're fine with Biden or Harris? They won't pass red flag laws, bump stock bans, and a whole lot more? And urban Democrats are SO much more understanding of farmers' and ranchers' problems? The world won't go away because you don't vote.

two fallacies
not sure the 'fallacies' are with the argument, but rather with the candidate, as they are the one that fails to perform so as to benefit 'We the People'.

The fallacy in my opinion, become 'the evil of two lessers' in that neither address with honesty/integrety/fealty/clarity etc, any issue that can be used to further compromise a suitable solution within the terms of Constitutional intent.

Differences of opinion arise in daily life, making such as horse races & poker, attractive to many. And We the People need to demand whichever party wins the election, that we ALL benefit from the 'spoils of our system of governing'.

No true conservative would vote for any of the communists/socialists running under the anti-freedom banner, or abstain from voting (same effect) compared to voting for Trump, despite his faults.

As others have stated, politicians often are a lot of talk and little action, making statements that pander to the emotional knee jerk reactions that then wear off with little time.

And we all wonder why we can't get a representative government to support us. Am not a friend of red flag laws at all but just who will they vote for? A Dem? A 3rd party (guaranteed loser for us)? Hold your nose and vote! He's still better than the alternatives.
