McConnell is on board with red flag laws as well. Sounds like it's a done deal, thanks to Republicans.

Red Flag laws are one of those good ideas on paper ...but not so good in practice.
They sound good ...and do make for great copy with the "We gotta do something " crowd.
But...
With the way many are vaguely written , coupled with a open and loose interpretation of the law...can easily lead to abuse.

What's even worse about Red Flag Laws is in order to confistcate the firearms we first need to have gun registration (Universal Background Checks) and unfortunately here in Washington we already have both but still hold out hope UBC does not go Federal.

Trump is so polarizing he's causing a huge shift left in legislative seats (the people actually writing laws).

UBC going Federal is something even Obama couldn't accomplish, but my gut says it will happen under Trump.

My 2 cents.....

The leadership of this country should just stop micromanaging. There are many more people who own guns and have never used them illegally vs. the ones who have used them illegally.

Murder has been against the law in like forever. Yet, Murder occurs. EVIL PEOPLE. Well, they happen. In our system of justice.....you punish THE GUILTY.

Though some don't want to punish. Just house or re-educate. Whatever that will have to wait for another discussion.

So then, there are many things that can be weaponized and many ways to Murder someone.

Note: I still haven't seen any serious effort asking/demanding for restrictions on pressure cookers and/or fertilizer. For the record......I don't own a pressure cooker. But, IF I wanted one and since we want to save everyone from any harm......would I/should I have to submit to a BGC, waiting period, be limited to one purchase a month, etc.....

Why not have restrictions on:
knives
hammers
rat poison
etc....

Rrrrright. If we could save just one life.

A wide net is being cast in the hope of stopping the next incident. If it ain't one thing it'll be another. Slowly by slowly..... Kiss the 2nd A goodbye.

Note: Even the 1st A is being attacked under the disguise that no one should be exposed to "hate speech."

OR, just come to the realization that not everything and everyone can be controlled to the point where no one will ever be hurt again.

Under the 2nd A and in some states......
Exercise your RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS. If need be, laws may need to expand.......to allow you (the good citizen) to carry. So that you have the means to defend yourself immediately and not have to wait for the police to arrive. The armed citizen acting in response to a shooter has happened before. Though the media, of course, downplayed the story and it was very soon forgotten.

Mind you that recently, the Police were quick and acted appropriately.

Though we also know of other incidents (in the past), where the victims were victims because of the failings of the Police. Having only one answer to a shooter doesn't cut it and shouldn't be the acceptable norm. Who's life is it anyway?

What happened to: Refuse to be a victim.

Oh I'll vote one way or the other. IT just won't be a choice vote like last time it will be back to voting for the lesser of the evils.

Living in WA I'll be out voted by the idiots up here wanting socialism anyway so my vote most likely won't matter to Trump either way....
