But have been contemplating getting a Ruger LCP max
The aforementioned Esposita has and carries a LCP Ⅱ in .380 ACP.* IIRC, bridges the gap between her regular carry pieces in .32 ACP and 9㎜ Luger. She seems to like it fine. Best of wishes with your research. :)

I like the Glock 27 G3 in .40 SW for pocket carry most of the time. It is a nice compact pistol with the 10 round magazine and sometimes the large full capacity magazines if needed. It carrie's well and sometimes I carry a
Taurus 856 Ultralite revolver in .38 in an ankle holster. Either way I feel very well prepared.

When I was about 12 or 13 the only reason I would go for a walk in the woods by myself was to carry and shoot this Marlin 81DL. I continued this tradition on well into my late teens, early 20s. So, I will always consider it to be my "going for a walk" gun. The scope has been updated since then, but I still have the old Weaver.
These days there are many considerations, weather, location, etc that will determine my choice of carry. Last time I went "walking around" was Halloween with the kids. That was pocket carry of a 642 with a laser grip. Since then, I stuffed my P3AT in the back pocket when I wanted to dress light. Funny thing about that, at dinner I kept going for my gun when I wanted my phone! (No, I didn't draw it)
If I am going to be in the woods, I OWB carry a steel 3" J-frame, or a 1911, or... :D

Considerably, especially of you get the ported version. The bore axis is the major factor contributing to this
Interesting. I've never shot the lcp but for all the hype, I don't find the BG2.0 to be exactly comfortable to shoot. I don't have the ported version though.

It does feel good in the hand, however

The LCP max is ungodly to shoot next to the 2.0, as a pocket pistol, the bodyguard shoots the best compared to anything close to its size

I've come close to purchasing the LCP Max several times. Really tempting at sales prices just over two bills. Just seen too many comments about how unpleasant it is to shoot. I've got a Sig P238 that fulfills the pocket pistol need, but I would sure hate to have it stolen out of my golf bag or car. At two bills, the LCP Max would almost seem disposable (other than having some lowlife running around with a gun) if it were stolen. The Sig P238 is fun to shoot.

It's a gradient. Compared to the class of single stack pocket .380's (Kel-Tec P3AT, standard LCP), the LCP Max is quite shootable, thanks to its much better trigger, better sights, and slightly larger grip.
