Poll: Weapon light on carry gun?

It doesn't matter. Most importantly have a flashlight in your pocket. Outside of that it's all personal preference. I used to carry with an X300 weapon light. Still do on and off. But as of recent I don't use a WML on my carry gun. Nothing wrong with doing so though. I always have a quality light in my pocket. Whether carrying with a light or not. A weapon mounted light is definitely not an "essential" when in comes to EDC.

Am I the only one who thinks that flashlights on weapons are counterproductive?

Flashlights on weapons especially defensive weapons. . Rifles, pistols, shotguns. To me they seem counterproductive. Here I am , shoot at me. I wont use them. Just me?

Gets beat to death on the net fairly regularly. There has been at least a couple threads here over this. Just like sights, optics, laser's and the rest. It comes down to what works for the person. Since almost no one can practice live fire in the dark many have no idea what its really like. Many of them can't reliably hit paper in full light. Paper that is not moving or shooting back. Almost all go their life and never have to put it to the test as they never have to shoot anyone. Those few unlucky ones who do? Soon find out it does NOT work in real life like it does on TV.
