I'm partial to shotguns as defensive weapons. But I keep a baseball bat next to my bed. If someone comes into the house while I'm asleep, they already have a huge advantage over me. To say nothing of my being nearsighted, and of course when I get up out of bed, first thing needed is the eye glasses. Which greatly help in sorting out what it is I might or might not be called upon to shoot at. And of course I'm hearing impaired and I don't wear HA to bed. So maybe that is a plus, they can come in, help themselves, I won't know about it, and everyone is safer for it.

Stop, you're going to give me an aneurysm.
